this friend must be socially deprived...
i once knew this girl who couldn't watch spongebob, pokemon or cartoons as a child. she could only watch like bill nye.
ughhh cannot imagine a childhood without cartoons, harry potter, etc.
i played skyrim and it's amazing except there was a glitch in my file or something so I couldn't continue the main mission. (btw chose the stormcloaks instead of imperials even though i'm a dark elf)
I read a game of thrones over last summer. It was time consuming but really good.

She's very deprived, to type the list of everything she's not allowed to watch/read/play/listen would take so long, it's prob way easier to say the things she's allowed to(very few things)

I read GOT and am addicted to skyrim(:
Imperials forever<3
Death to stormcloaks(;

Some of my friends parents wouldn't even let them watch Disney movies as kids. -_-

thumbs up 0 thumbs down reply

FlorenceSong · 1 decade ago
Yeah, it's great for parents to be involved, but I think some just really overdo it.

shoot4thestars · 1 decade ago
Ikr? I mean Disney is the best and it sends great messages to kids

Wow... I'm a Christian, and I read Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. I just know that it isn't true, and therefore I don't allow myself to be affected negatively by it. I mean, they're both amazing book series. I don't know why the parents are like that... they should true their children to keep their religion with them.

I know. Because I read Percy Jackson, they seriously asked me if I worshiped Zeus. I'm a smart a.S-s, so I replied. No, I pray to the one true god Odin, Christ promised get rid of all the wicked people, Odin promised to get rid of all the ice giants. I don't see any Ice giants do you? I prob just made things worse though.(:

Yet parents let them read twilight -.- why? why? why?
thumbs up 0 thumbs down reply

FlorenceSong · 1 decade ago
na, her parents won't let her read/watch twilight either. Sorry I forgot that one. If I listed everything they ban/censor we would be here all day.

The Day Dream Expert * · 1 decade ago
I see; but over all; I know people who aren't allowed to watch all of the things you posted up in the quote and they will be allowed to watch twilight..I mean lets say for example someone isn't allowed to watch/read harry potter but they would be allowed to read or watch twilight which is basically about how important it is to have a boy friend. I don't really like twilight but nothing against it...ive seen this multiple times. I don't know why parents would deprive their kids of something that may even give their kids self confidence...some how Harry Potter did for me. SO these parents just disappoint me. (Sorry that was so long haha)

I'm not really a huge fan of any of those things but it must be annoying to be so sheltered from them.. my parents don't really care what I watch or read or anything which is good I guess.

FlorenceSong · 1 decade ago
That's how my parents are. it's horrible for her like she pretty much can't even use the computer for anything other than homework, and like learning games the rest of us played when we were 5

Wow, really? That's a bit excessive, I can see why some sites /might/ be banned but it must be so frustrating for your friend..

omfg skyrim is the best video game I have ever played and my parents agree; they find the graphics and gameplay breathtaking, so whenever I'm playing they either just let me or they stand there watching in amazement
