why does anybody have to be anything for a guy. Girls should learn to be independent and beautiful and however they like for THEMSELVES and nobody else. what i dont get is how society goes on to criticize girls who are not the perfect weight or size. please try and tell me why being skinny is better than overweight, or why overweight is better than skinny? its about guys- and the ones that truly love you will disregard this b.s.

See i agree with you completely. I am only 98 lbs. and I'm just a freshman. ppl think that i am anorexic or bullemic and it really lowers my self esteem when so many people say sh.t like this. I love your opinion and i 100% agree with it :)

so what would you have said if she posted something about chunky girls? the same things, but different words? maybe its cause she's curvy she thinks it better than being skinny to make her self feel better. thats how i am. i think its much better to be thicker because you have more things like, butts or b.oobs. but whatever. i love her point of view <3

But it's the same with being overweight. Some people can't control it. Like there are people who are really healthy, but because of their metabolism are slightly underweight or overweight.

slightly isn't the problem... it's jsut, when you are obese, you're not pretty, and when you're anorectic, you're not pretty. as long as you stay healthy, it's beautiful. I think people who have genes that makek them be larger have to work out more, and people who have a fast metabolism should eat more than average. I don't say it's fair, it's just the prettiest and healthy too

Amen. I have a dangerously fast metabolism and hypoglycaemia so I have to eat regularly to stop myself from collapsing yet people say that I'm anorexic? I don't care what others look like so you shouldn't judge me either.

She was probably trying to make a point, but I think she neglected to think of how it would actually affect other people, because it's still an insulting post.
I think that, yes, she may have had good intentions, but people are held accountable to what they post on the internet. She could have written it down in her room, but she didn't. She publicly shared it without fully thinking about the consequences.

Furthermore, I believe the statement is aimed at extremely underweight girls that have every single bone in their bodies sticking out to the point where they look ill (yet, they look like some supermodels that young girls look up to). Some "skinny" or "thin" girls simply have a normal BMI and it's clear they have "meat", as well as bones.
It's a statement against one of the extreme poles of weight (the other pole being obesity), and honestly, I agree with it.

Yes she may be sticking up for people but what's the point in making a drama. If she really had a problem with it then she should of sent that girl a message and not decided to have a massive rant.

Thanks, I take pride in my copying of definitions from dictionaries to prove a point. Whether or not the girl who made the Witty quote is shaming is completely irrelevant to what we're talking about. You said the Facebook post is not shaming, I showed you the definition of shaming and proved that yes, it is shaming. Whether or not the girl on Witty is shaming is a completely different topic

Since you've resorted to downright insulting (I assume) me and just dropped the actual topic, I'll have to assume that you've realized the Facebook status was shaming. Taking offense is just an emotion, not an action. I can take offense to something, but the trick is to just shrug your shoulders and move on. Taking offense to something is not pathetic, it's how you respond to the offense that shows true character.

You are disgusting. Low self esteem has nothing to do with a guy liking someone or not. It's not someone's fault people make fun of them constantly we can't all be confident in ourselves. I think you need to learn that not everyone can have high self esteem because some people are really mean (example, you). Btw, not everything girls do is for guys.

There is a thin line between being honest and being rude. You just have to handle them with care, that's all. I see what you mean by saying that people who take offense to everything are annoying, but you don't have to walk on egg shells you have to take a different tactic. Omg thanks for saying that i'm in alot of sports and i'm suppose to be skinny and tiny and if i'm not i get kicked off. Besides i'm one of those people who are forced to be skinny and then all the pressure gets to them and then they get an eating disorder then they have to leave everything for at least a month and will die if they aren't getting better. But thank god i'm not dead and i'm back training.
