All of the reports of him saying this leave out the part of how he learned there that she loved music before her family were put into hiding. He was referring to that fact and was saying he would be honored if she was still alive to be a fan of his music. I don't really understand how that would considered disrespect. He would never disrespect the heroic things Anne and other Jewish people had to go through. After all, his manager is Jewish and is related to Holocaust survivors.

1) You don't need to read the report to know if Anne liked music before being put into hiding. Most people learned about her story.
2) It still doesn't make up for the fact that he permanently marked something in a historical house about something that revolves around himself

Personally, I like his music. However, in this situation, he kind of acted like a jerk. Sure, it was probably very inspiring to be there, but he came off as a bit over-confident, if you will.
