Her story isn't any different. And I think that's the point. People go through this everyday, but not everyone realizes it. Some people need to see it, need to see a video of a girl that killed herself, need to know why she did it. I think it's more effective that way, rather than someone saying "people kill themselves because of bullying everyday". A video put up by the girl is much more personal. Amanda Todd's story isn't any different from anyone else's. Her suicide isn't anymore important than anyone else's. Her story is sort of like an icon I guess.

yeah... i personally think that she was asking for it. She flashed infront of a camera and then had with her friend who had a girl friend.... then she killed herself because people called her a for it and she got into drugs and achohal. on her own. I mean, nobody should kill themselves but of all cases to publicize... why this one?

Well, based on the facts, she kind of asked for it... She flashed in front of the webcam out of her own free will, it's not like guys were forcing her to do so. Yeah, it is sad that she killed herself in the end, but there are waaaay more people going through worse stuff(murdered, , abused, ect), so it's weird how her story got so much publicity.

It isn't but it was a way to bring awareness to it all, believe it or not many people haven't heard of suicide or maybe not much about it; she serves as an example and her youtube video was easy access to that with such a mainstream website, she's all over the media because of that- she's the hot topic because of that.

A lot more people knew her than anyone else who had committed suicide. After my best friend committed suicide, only about 3 people noticed, including her mother and father. The fact that she posted a topless picture brought all the pervs to the yard, and she transferred several school. All the kids at all those schools knew her, and she left behind that bone-chilling video about suicide, which is one of the most viewed YouTube videos of this month.

I wondered about that as well. I posted a couple of quotes on it because I thought, "well, if people are paying attention to it, maybe I can at least a point or two across."
But I do wonder why no one else's story has gone this viral.

Shes Gone, But Shes Everywhere.
No story is alike, she killed herself, and its a huge deal. Amanda made a mistake, and she felt no other escape. I don't know why her story is not the same... but still. I feel bad for her. She was beautiful, and its so weird that the pretty girl killed herself.... But at the same time... I don't know. I just feel bad about the whole thing that happened. No one deserves to die for a MISTAKE.
R.I.P anyone who EVER killed themselves, because of bullying, harassment, and for any other cause.

Yeah... I guess this is different because she explained that she wanted to die, that no one loved her. I think a lot of bullies whose targets have commited suicide have felt really bad, but Amanda literally had No One. Maybe that's it? Or the fact that she tried (and failed) like 10 times beforehand. I dunno.

I think it's because she was on the internet more; maybe? Sorry, I'm just butting in unaware, but it's a big deal.

This is exactly what I say to people whenever they mention anything like this to me. There are hundreds of other people that commit suicide but they don't get acknowledged at all. Why is one person so special?
Not that I don't feel bad for her but I just don't think she's more special than the next person to commit suicide that no one cares about

This actually me off so bad. K. It's totally different from all the other kids because she spoke out one month before. One month before she took her own life she made that video and in that video it said she needed one person to talk to. Not until she killed herself everyone cared. So think before you post something like this.

This quote wasn't meant to anyone off. I'm just saying lots of people go through the same thing. Lots of people try to speak out and don't get so well known. I'm just wondering why people feel such pain about her story when it happens everyday.

I agree . Many people commit suicide because of bullying but they don't get the attention she got after they died.

she killed herself because people called her a and told her to go away and kill herself.
Ill be honest. if someone flashed to a stranger, id think she was a , if she had with my boyfriend, i would F*cking hate her.
but alcohol and drugs, seriously? sure she had a tough life but other people have it so much tougher and their still alive...
