I'm glad someone finally said it.

I think the problem with posting your opinion about such matters on Witty isn't just the fact that you aren't technically allowed to. It's also that it seems like no one on Witty can handle other people's opinions properly without getting rude and offensive.

You better agree with everything I say ever, regardless of your own opinions. If not, you're obviously stupid and way less superior than I am.

The people on this site are far too immature to a) discuss such topics, b) have a valid opinion that they can back up on these topics, and c) accept that other people may not be for it, but are not judgemental of those who are. These girls think that just because a person, say, doesn't quite agree with gay marriage, that they want it to be illegal. Which could be so far from the truth, but no one wants to listen to another side to find out.

Sorry for the mini rant. Thank you for your comment, though. I agree with it completely!

I respect your opinion but I like how even as teenagers we already have our opinion to each of the things you mentioned in your quote. It isn't wrong to give out your opinion but never protest against another person's opinion. We are just giving out what we think of a certain controversial topic not creating a debate which is the one causing the s//hit storm. Some people may disagree with you but you shouldn't force them to believe they're wrong. That's the problem with us teens, we always think we're right but then do you really have a clue? Anyways, thanks for posting this. We may really need to take a break from all this serious talking. I think we're too young to stress over those stuff.

I've already seen from her comment below it that she has been here longer than I assumed, which is my mistake, but it actually does mean that.
If someone has only been on this website for a few weeks, they have not seen even half of what happens when topics like this are brought up, so, no they can't have an opinion because they don't know.
I'm not saying that's the case with her because it isn't as I see now.

What does that have to do with me expressing my own opinion? Aren't those things happening right now? I've been in this website for a long time already, I just created a new account. I even remember detox weekend where all the quote formats where removed. The time where you guys declared that you put a semicolon on your arm or hand. When people posted quotes about One Direction, some even made quotes about Nutella. The Plot Twist quotes. The time the quotes had the date it was posted on it. When the fave button and comment button was on the left side of the quote. When we weren't able to put tags either. Where there where Fave if and Here's to the... quotes posted. There was also the "From the scale of one to..." quotes and many more. The vent category also existed. There where people who posted quotes saying that if you follow them, they follow back. Where people hated 12 year olds. We kept calling each other beautiful and many more.

I'm not saying it's appropriate to discuss those stuff here, because it really causes a lot of problems, a lot of people left Witty just because of those quotes and when you share your opinion, you get judged. It's just that I'm happy to know we actually have opinions to those serious topics because it means we're aware of the world we live in, but then again, Witty is a place where we post quotes about good things and not stuff that will tear this website apart.

Witty's always had bs controversial quotes and bad quotes and annoying crap. Even since my first account in like '09. The majority of popular quotes may be the crap ones and unoriginal ones now, but there's also an abundance of really good, really original, really heartfelt quotes if you look past the Top Quotes.

Eh, I don't really mind it. It's not against the quote rules or anything as far as I know, so saying "Witty isn't a place for..." is technically incorrect.
