Chapter 1
Today marks the start of my last year of high school.
I got out of bed and left my hair looking messy, but sexy. I
changed into a pair of jeans.
I threw on a white crop top that read 'raising hell in the
90's.'
Once I slid on my black buckle boots, I grabbed my phone and a
bookbag.
I walked downstairs, muttering a hello to my father and giving my
mother a hug.
"Good luck at school today sweetie." My mother said, as
she snapped my picture.
I grabbed the keys to my Harley Davidson and walked outside and
put them in the ignition.
I revved the engine, then sped away on my way to
school.
I parked in the senior lot, for the first time. It didn't
feel different than any other lot.
I got a lot of stares from people, but whatever. They either love
me or hate me.
Either way, they're thinking about me. I walked into school
right after the bell rang.
"Ms. Carter, nice of you to join us." said my pre-calc
teacher as I walked in the classroom.
"My pleasure." I replied sarcastically, taking a seat
in the back of the room.
"Actually, your seat is up front here." she said,
suprised by my response.
"I can't sit up front. I get headaches." I lied. I
hated sitting in the front.
"Fine." the teacher huffed, turning her back to write
on the board. I flicked her off.
The class laughed, and she turned around. She stared at my
through narrowed eyes.
"Can I help you?" I asked, with a hint of attitude in
my voice.
"No." she said sternly, before handing out the class
syllabus.
"Sorry I'm late Ms. Johnson." said a boy as he
walked in the classroom.
"No worries Troy. When's the first game?" she
asked, hanging him a paper.
"Tomorrow night. Go Lancers!" he said, pumping his fist
into the air.
That annoying jock talking to the teacher would be Troy
Stevens.
My arch enemy. For some reason, Troy and I have always hated each
other.
Probably because he's a preppy jock, and I'm considered a
rebel. Our cliques don't really get along. But I don't
really care. It's better that way, for both of us.
"You'll be sitting next to Avery." the teacher
said, pointing to the seaet next to mine.
"Perfect." he said, glaring straight at me as he walked
back towards our table.
Right before he sat down, I pulled his chair out from under
him.
He fell right on his butt, and the entire class started laughing.
He gave me the death stare.
"Oh, it's so on." Troy said as he got up and sat in
his chair.
"Bring it." I replied. This year is the last year for
our rivalry to continue, and I'm not backing down. This year,
I'm going all out. I'm going to leave this school
superior to Troy.
Nothing's gonna change that.
