-Perfect-
Chapter 1
On Monday morning, I woke up to the sound of Nicki Minaj playing on the alarm clock on my stereo. I got out of bed and walked to my large bathroom, turning the shower on while brushing my teeth. Once I had showered, I ran a brush through my long sandy blonde colored hair. I put a little bit of product in it, giving me my signature look of wavy hair and natural makeup. I walked over to my closet to choose an outfit for today. It was kind of chilly, since it was in the middle of November and I lived in Massachusetts. I decided to wear a pair of dark wash skinny jeans and my white flowy tank top with a bow on the top. I threw a black long sleeved blazer over my shirt so I wouldn't get cold and finished my outfit with a pair of black heeled booties. Being the popular girl in school comes with a reputation that's hard to uphold, so I have to dress the part.
My name's Olivia Johnson, and I'm a senior in high school. I have the life that every girl wants to live. My parents have a lot of money, and since my siblings are away at college, they decide to spend it on me. I'm not one of those mean popular girls you see in movies or read about in books. I actually have a soul and care about other people. I have three of the best friends anybody could ask for: Marissa, Ashlee, and Becca. We have been best friends since second grade, and nothing is going to change that. My boyfriend's name is Ethan, and we have been together for about seven months. I'm in love with him. I don't really know what I would do without him.
I walked out of my room and into the kitchen, where my father was reading the morning paper and my mother was making coffee.
"Would you like some coffee Olivia?" my mother asked, and I shook my head no. Instead, I grabbed an apple and a bottle of water and walked to the study to get my school bag.
"I have to get to school, I'll be home late tonight." I told me parents, grabbing the keys to my '67 Mustang that was in our five car garage. I started the engine and backed out of the driveway. On my way to school, I picked up one of my friends.
"Hey Joey. how are you this morning?" I asked as he got in the passenger seat.
"Pretty good. Tired." he answered, and turned on the radio. I let him listen to the station he wants, because I can tell he isn't in a good mood. Joey is a family friend. Our parents have known each other since we were babies, and they were always planning family dinners together. Joey and I used to be best friends, but ever since the end of ninth grade, we kind of drifted apart.
Joey's mother had passed away, and he became very distant from me. We used to confide in each other without a problem, but now I can sense that he doesn't really trust me. And I don't know why.
"Thanks for the ride." he says, and gets out of the car. I kind of miss having Joey as a best friend. It was easy being friends with him, because we just clicked. I spotted Ethan across the parking lot and made my way over to him, pulling me peacoat tight so I don't get too cold.
"Hey beautiful." he greets me, and kisses my on the lips. He grabs my hand and we walk into the school.
"Want to hang out this afternoon?" I asked, hoping he would say yes.
"I would love to, but I have practice. And then I have to work. Sorry sweetie." he said, giving me a sad smile. I shake it off and give him a kiss on the cheek before walking to science class. For once in my life, everything is going perfectly. But what's that saying? Something about when everything's going good, life screw you over. Well, I was about to find that out.
