How to Solve a Murder Without Being Murdered:

We didn't sleep a wink for the rest of the night, knowing what had just happened. Not to mention the cops, private investigaters, and some super nosey neighbors were making a huge comotion. 
"Where are you going?" Tiffany snapped at me when I started to get dressed. "Outside." She looked at me like I was crazy. "Are you crazy? It's totally insane down there? Why do you even need to go? You didn't know her and you don't know her family?" Tiffany whispered, trying not to wake Briana who had finally fallen asleep. "This is the frist time something is the boring town has ever happened. I don't know about you but this summer hasn't exaclty been summer. We're going to be Seniors in a month and I don't want to waste away my last summer before college." I told her, expressing what I truely felt. "Your point?" she asked in a nasty tone. "My point is, I don't want to just sit here while the most exciting thing in this town is happening. I want to be a part of it." She clearly wasn't understanding what I was getting at. "Like by planning the funeral? What do you mean, Haley?" he asked. I rolled my eyes, "No, by solving the murder." I smirked. She stared at me with my mouth open while I waltzed out of my room. 
I walked across the street towards Bethany's house. It looked like the whole town was there; either to mourn the death or more likely to get some details on something new to gossip about. The local news casters were trying to get the story. "Last night, 17 year old Bethany Finkle was murdered. We have no idea who the murderer is or why she was murdered." A news caster with long lucious blonde hair announced in front of the camera. I couldn't help but notice the door was open and I slipped in. Her parents were mourning in the living room and many people were there to comfort them. Then, I saw it; Bethany's body.
I stared down at her. She really was gorgeous. Beautiful blonde hair and a perfect complextion. She was so peacful. It was a shame such a nice girl had to die like that. Yet again, I didn't know her that well and she was kind of mysterious. She looked more like she was going to Cinderella's ball, not down in the dirt. Some older ladies crowded the dead body and I returned outside to the chaos.
 Well, in order to solve a murder you needed clues; right? I have no idea, I've never solved a murder before. But, I almost always won on the board game Clue so it had to be a sign. I started to circle the outside of the house looking for some kind of clue. Maybe the murderer dropped something on the way out?
Someting caught my eye, a footprint that faced away from the house. I knelt down to examine it. Before I could get really far a black DC sneaker stomped down on it. "Hey, I was..." I trailed off while getting up. It was Kyle; that sketchy creep that girls around here seemed to fall head over heels for. "You were what? Trying to find the murderer to be the hometown hero?" he smirked. I didn't answer since he cleary pinned it right on the nose. "Hundred of people have been walking around here for hours. It's likely not going to be the murders." he spat. I huffed, "I knew that. And so what if I'm trying to solve the murder? It's not going to hurt anybody?" He chuckled. "So why are you here anyways?" I asked bitterly. "Bethany and I were good friends." he admitted. I kind of regreted being rude to him. "Oh, I'm so sorry." I said in a comforting way. "Thanks." he whispered. It made total sense that sketchy Kyle and mysterious Bethany were friends; they were probably part of some gang or something. "So, don't you want to know who killed her?" I asked. He shook his head, "No. It's better I don't know." I bit my tongue. "Well, do you think you could maybe help me then? Like answer a few questions about her?" I asked. He shurgged, "Sure. Just be careful with what you're getting yourself into." he warned. A car horn parked from the street. "I've got to go, nice talking to you, um?" "Haley." I added, helping him out. "Nice talking to you Haley. And good luck witht his murder solving thing." he added sarcastically while running towards the car. Yeah, I was going to need more than luck. I was going to need clues.
