This was very offending. You cannot encourage others to be depressed. And not everyone cares about our kind of quotes? Well not everyone cares about your quotes either, doesn't mean Steve's going to hide them. "Lets-all-go-cut-ourselves" You may not realize how much your words are hurting some people, but you really should. Emo? I thought Witty was stereotype free. If I was the creator of this website I wouldn't want rude and close minded people like you on this site. The Black Parade? You view that depressing because of the word black. If it was the Rainbow Parade or the Pink Parade it wouldn't be depressing, would it? Seems like you're the one who has a little growing up to do.

I think Steve did the right thing.
The point of this website was NEVER to be used as a place to complain about being depressed or suicidal, an yes most quotes on those topics are exactly that, teenage girls complaining.
Most of the time it is fairly obvious they are complaining about problems they don't actually have because if they did really struggle with depression they'd be getting real help, not seeking attention on the Internet.
For those few people who actually DO have problems, this should be a wake up call that this is not a good, healthy way to deal with it and perhaps they should seek support outside of the Internet and in real life.
And don't tell me that they can't get help, there are plenty of resources at schools and in communities if you actively look. Sure, asking for help isn't easy, but you'll be much better off than you are complaining on the Internet.
And, if it isn't a complaint, if it genuinely is you venting a problem you do have, why would you want it broadcast all across the Internet? Shouldn't you want it kept quiet? The only reason I could think you wouldn't is you want attention and, possibly help, which brings me back to my previous point.
So, really, this Black Parade idea is ridiculous and unfair and Steve did the right thing for this website and it's users by blocking these quotes.

It's not good to keep problems locked up in side, hence the venting. And most teenagers don't have someone they trust to reach out to.

Also, there are numerous help blogs on tumblr so if you're really THAT against trying to actually find a person in the real world to talk and are just going to claim there's no one to turn to, go to one of the help blogs as that is the sole purpose of them. This was NEVER meant to be a support group but people have abused it to a point of turning it into one.

So, I haven't been on witty in like a year and this is why, this is horrible, Witty use to be my go to place to vent, and my witty brothers and sister use to be there, not judge me like half of you, I guess the old generation of witty is gone, at least most of it, the new generation, just.. you ruined a great site. This is wrong of Steve, but i guess it was for the best, because you kids can't help but judge or bully people, when they need help. #BlackParadeMarchOn.

I wonder if I'll get shouted at for this comment... Ah, well.

Witty Profiles isn't a site for quotes about that. If you can turn a vent into something along the lines of inspiration or wittiness, then great, but if you can't, keep in mind that there's a reason that the vent category was taken away all that time ago.
Also, I haven't checked up on any of this, but try not to jump to conclusions. It could still be a bug, or something to do with your account in particular.
And at the end of the day, Steve can and will block any quotes he feels he should. You're completely free to bring up the issue with him and whatever but just... try to keep in mind that if he DID do this, he'll have a reason for it.
That's all I wanted to say, I think.

That's a good point. I completely agree. It's Steve's website, he can do what he pleases with it. It's not like he's doing anything to hurt anyone, he's probably just doing it to gain some control. He's said since he took away the vent category (and probably before hand) that Witty isn't for quotes about cutting. Besides, if he wants more people to join, those quotes will have to stop because no one's going to really want to join a website with people just talking about how sh*tty their lives are, right? They want something fun and upbeat.

ah no I'm really sorry, but I don't really agree with this. I'm not trying to put you down or anything, but Witty is a place for funny and inspirational and exciting quotes and stories. I think that Witty shouldn't really show those depressing and upsetting quotes because so many of us come here for a break from the sadness and pain throughout our day.

Ok, first off, you should learn proper grammar. Secondly, caps lock through the internet makes you appear incredibly childish. Witty Profiles is a site made to have a collection of quotes. I do see a therapist and a doctor. Writing is another way to help keep me safe and away from the blade. My depression does not make me a second class citizen deserving censorship. Please, think before you speak. Because there are people on here, people other than me, who write, read, and enjoy depressing quotes. It's good to know that someone can relate.

No, it is not BS, and it does not matter what percent of people post them, although I can honestly say that depression and depressing quotes have been on Witty long before I was here, and they will be long after. Suffering is a beautiful tragedy, and it can create lovely words that people can relate to, whether they're stuck in a rut of depression, climbing out, or happy but just briefly sad. The quotes that I, and users like myself, post, are like a warm cup of tea or hot cocoa in the winter. They help sooth the painful ache of coldness, for all people. Depressing quotes are often beautiful, to the happy and the sad, and even if I'm a minority, that does not mean that I should have my right to be seen, hidden. I'm not asking for a top quote, I'm simply asking for my followers to see the words that I write, the things that they enjoy seeing.

See, but I think these quotes you're talking about are okay because they're inspirational. I just don't think Steve wants quotes that are like "I want to cut myself so bad." or "I just want to die." Quotes like these aren't inspirational. They're simply 'vent quotes' and Steve got rid of the vent category long ago to prevent anymore quotes like that. He even said himself, make quotes you would want family or friends to see. Quotes that are inspiring about depression, quotes that say things about overcoming depression in a generalized way, I think those are okay. I don't think Steve has a problem with things like that. I think it's rude to "gang up" on him and tell him you don't like what he's doing. It's not your place to say what he should or should not do. I mean, maybe you could ask him why to understand fully, but don't try to make a "black parade" it really isn't fair.
