I’ve been told that the way I sleep with one leg draped over the person lying next to me is annoying, but I think it’s annoying when people tell me I look pretty, but only when I paint my face. I’ve heard that old men like to touch the girls who work late at bars, but I want to know why they never kiss the women they married forty-two years ago. I’ve noticed that mothers teach their daughters that it’s rude to refuse a hug from an uncle they’ve met three times, but forget to teach them that they aren’t obliged to kiss the boy who paid for dinner.

It isn’t that I don’t enjoy talking to people, I just hate small talk. I don’t want to talk about your holiday plans or your body clock or your bowel movements. I don’t care. Pretending to care drains me. I want to know what keeps you up at night.

that moment, it scares me.
it happens to all of us; when you think you really like someone, and then they just do this one little thing and you suddenly lose interest. but the scary part is when someone does that towards you, and then you're left with nothing. i'm just really worried that one day i'll be with someone i'm absolutely in love with and then after one of the tiniest things happen, they'll just decide that they really don't love me anymore.

yesterday in science my teacher walked past just as i was discussing how quickly acid would dissolve a human body (shhh i'm a writer i know things) and he gave me a really weird look but then i said "okay i swear i'm not a serial killer" and he laughed and said ok
(i feel like now is the time to mention that i am doing an art project that
involves a lot of still lifes with skulls etc.)
today, i walked around a corner and he was there.
i was holding a cow's skull, a sheep's skull, two leg bones, a section of a spine, five feet of rope and a length of chain.
good god.
