   After spending the entire afternoon with anthony we learned alot about each other. I found out he moved her recently from Massachusets. Hes italian and russian, which he thought was a weird combination and he has a younger sister (Marina) and an older brother (Dominic, 17). His parents are happily married. Hes a sophmore. He told me all about how he really likes sports but snowboardings his one main love. Hes got a dog named Max, his sister has two gold fish which he doesnt really count as a pet. I told him about cheer and basically my whole life. We promised each other we would get together during the break so i could show him some of the places most of the guys hang out, i told him about cole and shawn and he would tell me about his girlfriend he had back home. They promised each other they would try their hardest to stay together long distance but he told me how he wasent so convinced she would be faithful. I told him i would make sure he had friends and wasent alone and that he could talk to me whenever. Before i even know it it was 6:!5 and my phone was ringing, i looked at my phone and saw a text from my mom telling me to start heading home or i would miss dinner. "sorry " i began to laugh "hey man its all good " i continued reading which was just my mom hitting some random keys in her attempt to text, "better see if the buses are still here, sorry this wasent much of a tour" i said making my way over to the steps " i can give you a ride if you want" " are you sure?" he nodded
   "it would be my pleasure" i lead him over to my locker and got my jacket out within minutes his mom was here, she pulled up in a black bmw and she was gorgues man, she had long blonde hair cystal blue eyes and a killer body, i could tell where he got his looks from. She made convorsation and asked me my adress the entire ride home. I could honestly say she was nicer than a majority of my *friends* "well this is it " i said as the slowly proceeded down my block "thank you soo much!" she chuckled and anothy smiled " anytime sweetheart"
   i think well take a look into anthonys head next chapter

   I heard footsteps follow behind me. "wait" i heard his voice and turned around "look im sorry but i rea-" he cut me off midsentace putting his hand out, " at least give me you phone" i was heasitent but i handded the boy my phone. After about a minute he threw it back to me,"i added my number and texted myself" i looked at him confused "well you didnt think i would let you go that quickly did you?" i laughed a little bit " i u-uh i gotta go" i turned on my heel and began walking around " i see you around!" he screamed out behind me. i walked over to vinnys car and opened the door to the front seat, i saw donny sitting there so i moved over to the back seat door, which i opened and to my surprise i saw shawn and cole sitting right there. gee how wonderful. i shut the door right away and walked away from the car. i felt a vibrte in my bag and checked it "get another ride jacks" i watched from the curb as my brothers call pulled a way, no way i was gonna sit with cole and shawn in that little space. " so your back?" i looked over to anthony "how about that tour?" and with that we walked off.

   Once science was over i went back into the same thing i do once again Everyday . Kind of used to it by now. My smile always fades right after that period and dont get me wrong I do miss everyone, all of my friends. But the quarters comming to an end anyway and todays the last day before winter break, christmas is in a few days and then im going away to a ski resort in vermont and when i come back ill be all refreshed for a new quarter of difference.My family decided to change it up this year. I went through the day anxious for its end, and like i said before i basically got through the day like a zombie. i knew i wasent taking anynotes i was doodling more than anything to be honest.Once that last bell rang i couldnt have jumped out of my seat quicker. I walked over to my locker just to have it bang right into my head. "You alright there?" i heard a voice that didnt really sound too firmilliar. "uh yeah thanks" i said rubbing my head. i turned to see a dark haired green eyed boy standing before me, but i still couldnt make his face out. "Im Anthony" he said smiling a beautiful perfect smile. "hi im jackie" i said smiling back. i tried to get my books and just walk towards the door but he stoped me. "im new here and i was just wondering if you could show me around or something?" i was curious because whos really that straight forward i mean really this is highschool? i texted vinny telling him i would be a little while and he said i could find another ride home if i didnt get out there right now. i cringed at the thought of having to take that bus"is something wrong?" i battled myself in my head for a second. it isnt just like a gorgues boy comes up to you and asks you to basically hang out with him everyday. But i would be stupid to expect anything out it. "uh yeah im sorry i actually have to go"
   and with that i walked away.

   *One Month Later*
   Let me catch you up.
   Its been around ta month since i really spoke to cody, not that i really cared too much. But i speak to shawn all the time. Some may even consider us bestfriends. I think im starting to fall for him. Hard. Not by choice of course. I go through out my day waiting to talk to him. I dont exactly think he feels the same way about me, considering i have to talk to him first all the time but hey worse things have happened to me. Mandy got back together with her boyfriend but somethings different about her. We arent really talking that much anymore either. cheer still sucks. i hate prentending to be something im not. the girls on that team, man they sure do hate me. and i hate them too. just because im not cheerful and wonderful and have this amazing outlook on life they think im some kind of outcast. i just hope ill last a few more months on this team and pull through, i dont think ill be kicked off, i think im more like quiting. But i gotta keep trying. Jane and i well hm. i dont exactly know how to explain this one. Once mandy started ditching me for her boyfriend jane came around more. But im not completely fond of anyone but shawn right now, I just cant seem to shake this. welcime back.
   I woke up feeling funny. i was tired but not lazily tired. everymorning i feel worse and worse. i get these pains in my stomuch but i ignore them. I got ready for school brushed out my hair touched up they parts i thought could be straighter and than got dressed. not to fancy i honestly have no one i need to impress.i threw on a black fitted vneck , a necklace, a pair of jeans and laced up my combat boots. I grabbed all my books and went downstairs. I saw the usual scene i see in the morning, mom making breakfast and vinny eating his brains out. once i grabbed my cheer bag we were out the door. we picked up donny and cody and i didnt say a word, just like everyday, the past month. we got to school and i walked in put all my stuff in my locker and found jane, we walked to out first periods since they were near each other like we did everyday. i went through school like a zombie. execpt for in science. with shawn. then i was legit alert as an infint. "hey jackie" i simply smiled back at the beautiful boy standing before me. i put my books down and we sat next to each other like we do everyday. it was about half through the period when shawn turned back to me "you know you have really beautiful eyes" my stomuch droped. i couldnt believe what i was hearing. "yours are too" i was looking directly into his ice eyes which with time seemed to warm. i liked them. since the second i met him i loved them.

   i woke up the next morning not really knowing what to do with myself. i felt really tired, sop i rolled back over. As soon and my side landed i saw the clock read "10:15" #$%^& CRAP. i sprang out of my bed not remembering mandy was there. i ran to the shower washed my body as quickly as possible than my hair. i got out and threw on an outfit and sneakers that didnt look like i would be trying so hard for shawn.(http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=44376555). I sat at my vanity with mandy watching tv like a robot on my bed. i finished my hair in 45 minutes i did it as best as i could. i applied foundation eye liner mascara you know the drill. i got up to grab some satin drops for my hair from the bathroom. I walked over to mandy who was doing her hair with my flat iron. i pulled out the plug "HA YOU ARENT STAYING HERE!" she looked at me with confusion "and why is that jackssss" god i hated when she called me that."because i can barley control myself around him and im not loosing him to your looks miss" she took out my foundation and began applying some to her skin "no no. enough!" i ripped the pad out of her hand "OUT!" i pulled her ponytail all the way down my steps and to my kitchen. "MOM TAKE THIS" I felt a tap on my back an i turned to mandy "yes?" her draw was dropped and she was pointing to my right. i followed my hand to where she had her attention to see shawn and cody standing in my living room. "you have got to be joking right now" i whispered into mandys ear. "can i have cody.....after i get dressed." she whispered back while covering her face with my shirt.. we both giggled nerviously "hey.." cody said waving, i got a simple smile from shawn. we bulted back up the steps. i picked out an old shirt that would fit mandys thin bodyor so i hoped it would at least look like it was supposed to be baggy, she had her own yoga pants with her and a straped bandou. i did her hair while she did her makeup and we were finished in record time.(http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=44377517) i grabed shawns bracelet and we walked down the steps "completely casual" i thought to myself. "i think thats mine" shawn said when i got to the bottom of the steps."yeah.." i handed him the silver chain. "your brother cancelled on us!" cody yelled my way. " oh, well we were just gonna go to the movies if you guys wanna come" mandy butted in."We were?"i was confused. "and you are?" cody spoke with a flirty tone. shawn gave her the same look he gave me the first time we met. " You can call me mandy"

   “its really over now isn’t it..?” I tired to speak slowly not to upset her, as ridiculous as it sounds kyle and mandy have been dating since the 6th grade, it was a cute little relationship they were both too young to have, but as the years went on they stayed together and their feelings got stronger, 3 years that’s a lot for kids our age. “Its cause o-of J-jane!” she managed to choke out. “What’d she do.” I spoke harshly this time. “Ashley and Bridget texted me and told me I needed to get to the fair now. So I got dressed and went, and it took me about 10 minutes to get there, they told me to go to the graivtron and so I did. They were in a full make out session, Jane and Kyle. I asked Ashley how long it was going on for and her a Bridget said for a while and they kept trying to break it up but jane wouldn’t stop, bridget told jane that she was gonna tell me and jane didn’t believe her, little did jane know I was already on the way, I just don’t get it, I thought he was better than this, better than her.” I rubbed her back until the sobs lightened up, i began to feel guilty for not being with her all night and instead with shawn and cole. I began to felt so bad that I broke down and explained everything to the bone of what I had done that night.”Im just so sorry mands, I would have been there for you, you know that, and when jane called me I just couldn’t answer it” “Good for you! You don’t need to protect me 24/7 jacks! You can have fun too!” I laughed and so did she. “well!” I looked at her with curiosity “what?” “DO YOU LIKE HIM?!” I shrugged, to be honest I had no clue, which is exactly what I told her, but instead of comforting me she threw a pillow at my head,I loved mands and the way she could just brighten up, she encouraged me to call shawn, she threw my phone at me and I dialed the number I had on the piece of paper. She walked into the bathroom and I walked over with her to see her washing her face, “but what am I even gonna sa-“ and then he answered. “hello?”

    We came to a stop at a red light when vinny lowered the music “ you don’t tell mom a thing okay?” I nodded and looked back out to see the landscape before me. To this day I wonder how vinny got this truck. Its extremely expense yet he doesn’t have a job and he always has money on him, I feel like my family is alllwayss, keeping secrets from me. And im a little tired of everyone around me being so secretive. We pulled up to the drive way and I quickly got out. I opened the door to my house and ran inside. It was around 10:30 so my mom was in her room. I walked in to see her almost asleep “goodnight mom” I kissed her on the head, “I hope you had fun tonight darling” I laughed a little bit “yeah I did, love you” “love you too baby doll” I walked over to my room taking off my boots and putting them in my closet. I set down my bag to take my phone out and out fell a chain bracelet, “crap this is shawns” I remembered taking it off him while I was cleaning his arm off. I quickly called cole, “ hey whats shawns number?” I walked over to my desk to grab some paper and a pen, but when cole responded he sounded irritated. He gave me the number and before saying goodbye hung up. While I was dialing the number my phone rang “Incoming call: Mandy” I pressed accept prepping myself for a long annoying conversation with a million questions about me ditching tonight. “JACKIE IM COMING OVER RIGHT NOW DON’T BOTHER ASKING WHY ILL EXPLAIN WHEN IM THERE OKAY!!” she hung up before I even got a chance to say a word, and since she lived around the corner she got to my house within minutes.I heard my door being knocked on, I ran downstairs and opened the door to see my best friend with skinny mascara lines all down her face, her eyes were swollen and she had tears welled up in her eyes, he long brown hair clipped back into a pony tail, her tan skin glistened under the street lights and her gray eyes were percing, she had her boyfriend Kyle’s sweats on and ran into my arms before I was even able to close the door.I took her in for a long hug, we stayed that way for a while, I didn’t know what happened but I didn’t dare ask. She pulled away “W-we need t-to talk” I simply nodded closing the door behind her and locked up. We walked up to my room and then everything came crashing down.

    ~We walked in silence until we reached the fair under the train again. I saw the boys in the same place we left them just talking. Shawn quickened his pace to meet up to the boys and I took out my phone for the first time for what seemed like hours, just to see 7 texts from Jane, Mandy and Payson, all my bestfriends wondering where the hell ive been all night, I answered all of them very generally yet carefully so that I wouldn’t give anything away, I just said I was stuck on the ferries wheel and when I got down I went to hangout with some girls from the cheer team. “Jackie, mom wants you home ill give you a ride lets go” I heard vinny yell from almost across the parking lot, though I could barley hear him through the drunk kids running and tripping all around me. I hit send, threw my phone in my bag and walked over to my brothers car and got in. As vinny and I pulled away from the curb my eyes met shawn and I just stared until he was no longer in my sight. I heard my phone ringing and I whipped it out the screen read, “Incoming call : Jane Hemmingway” I quickly clicked ignore and laid my head back onto the head rest, she could wait.

    “As I patted the gauze onto the open gash I saw shawns jaw clenching. “im almost done” I said, I saw relief wash over him, as I wrapped the wound up in a large band aid and some ace bandages and threw out the garbage. “you really didn’t have to do that” I sat back down and just looked around at the dimly lighted shopping center around me. “yeah I did” I looked down when I spoke. But as soon as I looked up meeting shawns eyes. I noticed the ice cold blue eyes before me seemed to have softened and warmed. I smiled and laughed a little bit with a breath. “I have a question” he sounded shaky when he spoke but he continued after I nodded. “why were you starting to like cole? I mean I could tell by the way you were looking at him. you’ve only really been close with him for a few days and I jus-“ I cut him off mid sentence by putting up my hand and closing my eyes “no. oh god no. I really don’t think in the few days ive basically known him we’ve had a real conversation, well not like a deep one, and with out being able to truly open up to someone I don’t think anything can prosper from that.’’ We said in silence for a few seconds, until I decided to finally break it. “we should start walking back to the guys, they might get worried” And with that I stood up. Shawn got up and caught to my steady pace. “so since you got to ask me a question, I get to ask you one” I was walking on the curb keeping my balance like a pro while speaking. Shawn nodded and I went on “was all of what cole said true?” “depends on what your talking about” this time I inhaled a big breath in before speaking and then it came out “well that you hate everyone he talks to because of well, I guess trust issues, that you haven’t even had time for a girlfriend? Or one that actually cares?” as soon as I heard those last few words pour out of my mouth I gasped and stopped in my tracks and basically froze “i-im really s-sorry it u-uh didn’t m-mean to come o-ut like that” shawn laughed at my embarrassment making me breath for the first time in 20 seconds.” well ill admit that I don’t really consider any of my old girlfriends a real relationship. Mostly for the reason you said before, if you cant open up, whats the point?” Shawn started walking again so I stepped off the curb and followed a little bit behind him.

    “Lets not tell anyone I told you about this okay?” cole mumbled looking down at his hands. I felt my blood boiling and my stomach twirling about. But I nodded in agreement so he would be relieved. “pinky promise?” I giggled a little as he lifted his hand high in the air and stuck up his pinky I locked mine with in his and when I was about to let go he tightened his grip. “no no no! your not done! Now you have to kiss it!” he moved both our hands towards his mouth and kissed his fist and told me to do the same so I did. “I don’t really think they’re gonna be messing with you for a while!” vinny said full of excitement. When I looked up slightly from my seat on the curb I saw Shawn’s cut on his arm clearer. It looked dirty like he was pushed onto the floor and gravel got in it. I stood up and opened my water bottle up, grabbed Shawn’s arm and poured the water onto the open gash. “Owwwwww!!! Jackie what the hell stop that stings!” Shawn snapped at me. “would you rather it get infected and have your arm look like this for good?” he shook his head no and told me to continue cleaning it. “come with me I need napkins. I pulled Shawn up the first concession stand we saw and grabbed what seemed like hundreds of napkins. We walked over back to the group in silence, when i realized he would need some ointment or the stuff in the brown bottle that hurts a ton! “Were just gonna go get some gauze and stuff for this kids arm” they boys simply nodded and we began to walk.

    I noticed it wasn’t just his lip which was bleeding, his eyebrow was as well and soon I noticed that his left eye was all swollen. As I started to realize something happened I quickened my pace. I rushed over to their sides only to see Shawn’s face red with anger. “Cole w-what h-happened to y-you” I managed to get my words together. Cole simply looked up at me with hurt in his eyes and then shot his head back down. “was it him, I don’t care about the other guys, was it him?” shawn was almost shaking at this point, with his muscles flexing as his jaw clenched. Cole nodded and the second after he did that shawn whipped out his phone and it looked like he texted someone. “Give me 10 minutes” he said, we sat and waited I was silent the entire time. I saw a familiar car speed up to the curb and then came to a hult. Then I realized it was my brother and donny in the front two seats. I haven’t seen my brother this angry since my dad came back. Donny sprinted over to cole with worry and pain in his eyes “its okay little brother thats it im taking care of it this time” donny said patting his back and whipping his face, Shawn and Vinny got donny up and told me to stay here with cole and make sure hes okay. I didn’t ask questions. Soon things became a little clearer. Someone did this to cole. And I don’t think it was the first time.
    *authors note:i really needed something to happen in these chapters it leads up to something yooouulll seeeeee.

    Almost the second after I finished my sentence we heard another creek and the ride slowly began to go into motion again, almost as if it was planned. Shawn and I walked off the ride smiling at each other, hes different from what I thought he was, and I was different from who he thought I was. I pulled my phone out and checked the missed call I had, it happened to be from cole. “Cole called me” I said continuing to stare down at my phone looked at a text I just got from jane. “Yeah me too, no worries ill call him back real fast.” Shawn hit the call button on his iphone and soon they were talking when shawn hung up kind of angry “can we go over by the train station for a second?” he said with an underlying tone of anger to his voice, I simply nodded as he took my hand and pulled me through the crowd of drunk, loud people. We finally made our way through the pack of people and over to a smaller but still pretty big group of people. I had to squint my eyes to see what was going on in the circle. My eyes widened as I looked up and saw coles lip bleeding and him sitting on the floor infront of the group of teenagers who seemed to be a little older then us. Shawn dropped my hand and ran to coles side, I started walking closer to the boys, and the closer I got, the worse cole began to look. ”
    *authors note: this ones short but thats only because i have like 3 other chapters to add on tonight, they were already written so im uploading now (:

Finally I just said something I didn’t think he could reject right as we were being placed into our cart I looked at his dog tag and realized what it was “so.. how long have you been a diabetic?” he looked over at me blankly “its not mine.” We sat down and I looked up at him “ my best friend used to be a diabetic” I was referring to brian but i wasent gonna let him know that. “yeah my cousin was one, but he uh- he died last year..” we continued to talk about it when we hit mid way towards the top the ride made a creeking noise and came to a hult, shawn looked at me with confusion and I did the same until we heard, “attention passengers we are experiencing technical difficulties please remain strapped in.” I laughed and shawn chuckled “just my luck right?”he looked down smiling “oh thanks.. ” I said looking down at my hands weaving my thumbs in and out of each other. “I was just kidding Jackie” I smiled and giggled a little bit and then we sat and cracked jokes for about an hour stuck at the top of this stupid ride. “you know, I thought you hated me when we first met” I looked deep into his hazel eyes hoping to see some kind of emotion“maybe that’s cause to be honest I thought I did hate you” I looked away from him a little bit hurt “but that was before I got to know you, i kind of thought you were "that" cheerleader” I felt my cheeks flushing red and I turned around and smiled back at him. Soon I felt chills roll up my spine and I got goose bumps. “its freezing out here god”. Shawn looked over to me and spoke softley under his breath “I would give you my sweat shirt but I don’t have one with me” I sat and continued to I looked down I saw cole talking to a group of girls “hes a player isn’t he?”. Shawn looked down matching my view “cole? " "yeah" "Its about time you caught on jackie.”
    *authors note: oh my god, witty was being a nightmare. it wouldnt let me post a single thing, and i forgot to post cole and shawns outfits for the fair so here you go!

    “Mom i-“ before I could finish my sentance I heard my doorbell ring, “l’ll get it!” i ran down stairs while finishing off putting on my jewelry to my outfit.(http://www.polyvore.com/saturday_night_fairi/set?id=39732743) I swung the door open to see a laughing cole and and giggling shawn. “oh uh hey guys what are you doing here?” I looked shawn up and down to see his black and red outfit which looked amazing, I think he realized cause he looked away, “oh uh we figured we would just ya know pick you up. Donny said he was gonna give us a ride to the fair and since we were gonna meet up anyway I just thought we would just go together” I remembered the conversation my mother was attempting to make with me “so lets go then!” I smiled at cole looking at his white shirt which brought out his dark tan “mom im leaving donnys taking us!” I screamed up running out the door pulling shawn and cole behind me, and texted jane when I got to the car telling her I was going early. “ hey little tribs” “hey donny” I said climbing into the back of his car, donny beeped about 10 times before vinny came out and then we were on our way. I sat looking out the window most of the ride, cole opened my door when we got there and I practically jumped out. “you wanna go on some rides?” I nodded and followed the guys over to the ticket booth walking through the darkness all lighted up with neon, and children running, people drunk all over and loads of talking and screaming. I took out my wallet about to pay when my hand got pushed down. “ no no no. come on let me pay for you” “no cole come on!” I felt a bracelet slapped onto my hand “now lets go!” I felt my hand being pulled as I was being guided between people running behind cole and shawn they threw me on to the gravitron ride and put me smack in between them. The music played and the ride began. I honestly don’t think ive laughed this much since I used to hang out with brian. I came off the ride laughing like a little kid, “can we go on something like the Ferris wheel now?” I asked wiping the tears away from my eyes “I hate ferris wheels but I needa go pee anyway! Shawn take Jackie on the ferris wheel its your favorite ride anyway” shawn looked over and me and nodded but kept his face blank, “oh okay.”

    A Change Of Mind
    Chapter 10
    I must have read that note over 15 times before I finally decided to set it down. I walked out of my room and sprinted over to my kitchen to see my mom sitting at the table with a sad look on her face paying bills “hey ma” she looked up and shot me a fake smile which sent another dagger through my heart, “were tight again this month aren’t we?” she looked down and refused to make contact with my eyes. I simply walked over to her gave her a hug and handed her an envelope “being a counselor at a summer camp isn’t that great of pay but it helps” she looked me in the eyes when she looked up this time “I cant take this jacks, this is your, you worked for it” I simply nodded my head and shoved the money in her hand “take it I have no use for it” as soon as I finished my sentence I walked back to my room and sat on my bed looking up and the white twinkly lights I had hanging around the perimiter of my celling. “Time for a new job” I thought to myself and began walking over to my desk, I pulled out an old notebook and turned it to a blank sheet of paper and started to think outloud naming jobs I would like or try to get. I must have been sitting there for about 45 minutes but it felt like hours. I finally stoped when I got a text, I opened up the text and saw it was from cole, I stood shocked at what he said
    Cole Monticarlo: Hey Shawn wanted to know if we were gonna chill at the fair tmrw r sure ur going?
    it took me a couple of minutes to process anything that had to do with Shawn and I’ve only known him for a day.
    Me: oh uh yeah sure I am
    Cole Monticarlo: see u there (:
    I walked over to my closet to pick out and outfit for the next day and came across a cute black shirt, destroyed jeans and black boots. I took of all my remaining make that had streamed down my face and blew dry my hair so it would be good to straighten later, while my hair finished drying I painted my nails black and picked out my jewelry all while on the phone with jane with her complaining about her ex-boyfriend who i've liked since 3rd grade kyle. I choose my tiffany heart tag, snake ring, my layered ring, my spiked ring, black feather earrings and a black leather beaded feather bracelet. I straightened my hair so it would look good for the next day turned on a movie and went to sleep. But I dreamt again, but this time, of kyle.
