You need to learn freaking grammar. 2. there are 8 Harry Potter movies.3. all twilight is about, is Bella sitting her room starring at nothing and saying she'd die without that dumb vampire, which is telling girls they need a man to be happy, which is definitely NOT THE CASE IN REAL LIFE. 4. The least popular Harry Potter book made 90 million more dollars than the most popular Twilight book. 5. Harry Potter is awesome. 6. Twilight sucks.

This is stupid. She wrote them to represent over coming evil *spoiler alert* even when it can be inside you. She wrote it about finding new friends, about changing your life. And there are actually 8 movies. And you've obviously only read the first. Characters do develop, Hermione becomes amazing, Snape is a good guy, and Ron is important. Twilight is the stupid one, a vampire and a werewolf fighting to see which one has bigger abs? Sheesh

Look, I've been a Potterhead for a while, and recently I decided to try Twilight. It's just dumb. When J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter, she had a message in mind—that love, friendship, family and loyalty is the strongest magic against any adversity, even if it's sometimes hard to believe. She tells us wonderful things, like how to make important choices and how hard being young can be. All Twilight is, is a bunch of lovesick teenage vampires and werewolves running around after one boring girl. I mean, is there any writing style? Just as many descriptive words as possible shoved into every sentence. Is there any character development? None that I could see. Harry Potter got 8 movies, and the last one is split into two because people actually wanted to see as much as possible of the finale. Twilight got 5 movies. A substantial number, but still less that Harry Potter. I'm just saying, there's no point to Twilight and it's dumb, just like everything in Stephanie Meyer's head that gets put into a book. Oh, and by the way, Edward Cullen is the most unattractive person I've ever read. Harry and Ron are both funny, uniquely gifted, developed and relatable characters, and Edward, what, sparkles and drinks animal blood or something? No, Harry Potter wins. Even Bella is just a stupid Mary-Sue with NO EMOTION. She just fawns over Edward and complains about everything else. Someone give me a reason why Twilight is even good at all.

To sum it all up, I have completely lost all my faith in humanity...

Reading it was so exasperating. After reading, I fear for the future of human intelligence.

First of all, Stephanie Meyer had the worst message in her book. No female should lower herself that much over a guy.

The message of the story was to basically if you find a guy you like no matter how abusing, jerky, assholic you should love him and get married right out of highschool. And if he dumps you, resort to extreme measures to get him back- for example: Jumping off a cliff. Yup, works every time.

Secondly- Harry Potter has way more character development. Bella was the same freaking piece of sh** from the first book to the last. Hermione actually has some serious character development. In the first book she was a stuck-up know-it-all. But as the books progressed she learned more about friendship and love.
And yeah Ron may not be the most attractive guy but see thats one point. In harry potter the characters liked each other for who they are not how they look.

Also twilight has no story. If you take out the romance of twilight all you get is a story of a girl who moves to a rainy town and gets stalked by a pedophilic Vampire.

If you take out the romance from harry potter you get a story of a boy who learns he's a wizard goes to hogwarts and learns of friendship, loyalty, magic, how to confront his fears, freedom. And he defeats the most evil wizard of all time.

And to end this off nice and clean- Harry Potter has 8 films not 3.
Also since i'm nice- Twilight has won 25 awards and has been nominated 10 times.
Harry Potter has been nominated 177 times and has won 57 awards.

First off, your grammar just sucks. Before you criticize something make sure that people can understand it. Second, there is character development in Harry Potter. For example; Hermione. She started off as this unsufferable know it all (which everyone even Hermione herself realized at some point in the FIRST book) but then she moved on to realize the value of friendship and became more laid back and less of a know it all. That right there is development. There is absolutely no development in Twilight, at all. Bella remains to be the same, boring, low key unfeeling girl that she started off to be. Edward is still the same moody, supposed to be complicated but comes off as a jack vampire that he always is. Also, anyone can right about romance and finding the "one" for you and literally any person can do what Bella did, which was fall for a guy, date him, love him, get all sad and depressed and declare her life over because he left and then get back with him. Girls in middle school do that. So, the story is not that original to begin with, since that is like every romance story ever. Harry Potter is about friendship, overcoming fears, learning about yourself, growing up and coming of age. Harry Potter is a lot more complicated than Twilight ever was, and Snape is a GOOD guy. They don't spend their time trying to "defeat" him. Voldemort is the bad guy that they try to defeat. They may not like Snape because he has a lifelong pain caused by many factors of his life that cause him to kind of be a jerk, but he is a good guy. Harry Potter also got 8 movies, 3 more than twilight. ALSO, Hermione has a HELLA lot more emotion than Bella ever had, and she showed it. The most emotion Bella ever showed was her pathetic "I give up my life is over cause some boy left me" depression. And since for like the majority of that time all we got were the names of months under each chapter I think that just proves that Harry Potter was the better written one. Seriously, who just writes down months one page at a time and calls that good? Bad writing. Harry Potter is more loved than Twilight, where as pretty much any person has a negative to say about twilight. One of my friends who enjoyed reading the novel even flat out said "these are very poorly written" and she liked them! Maybe try and read past the first book and/or watch ALL the movies (and do some research) BEFORE you go bashing something online and saying a bunch of things that aren't even true and can be disproved.

Here we go. 1.) It wasn't hard for Bella to find love. She was a new girl that moved and everyone loved her, even though she wasn't that great. Ron taught us to be brave, Hermione taught us to fight for equality and to be smart, Harry taught us to do what is right before what is easy, Remus and Sirius teach us that despite what you are (a werewolf and convict charged with murder) that you can be an amazing person and help in so many ways. Even Hagrid, a half-giant, defied the stereotypical "giants are evil and vicious" and became a father figure and friend to Harry.
2.) Snape is on Harry's side, he loved more and is more complicated than the entire twilight series, it is Voldemort they're after. Shows how much you know. Twilight was only four books, five movies. And yes, it was split into two. Harry Potter was 7 books and 8 movies, the last also split into two, by the way the lowest selling Harry Potter movie still made $90 million dollars more than the best selling twilight book. You actually have the character development reversed. There is absolutely no character development in Twilight, they are all just obsessed with twilight. In Harry Potter you see Neville finding inner strength, Luna teaching Harry to be more accepting and to not judge people, you see your opinion of Snape change completely in the seventh book, you see Hermione learn that knoWledge is important, but it's not the only thing, you I see Harry learning that not all good people are perfect and that others are just as important as he is, you see Fred and George start to take things seriously, I can go on forever. The fact that not every character is this gorgeous, flawless person makes these books incredible. Ron was a loyal, supportive, and helpful friend who did everything he could to help Harry. He is unattractive, but it makes the story relatable. I never found arguing and bickering over a girl sophisticated. So you're wrong. Her one is an incredibly loving kind powerful and intelligent young women. Look at her and Harry's relationship and what she does to protect her parents in the seventh book. As for reasons why Harry Potter is better, the titles are relevant, the villains are so much worse, and therefore, better villains, there are actual battles and adventures, Harry Potter created and entire world, Twilight occurred in a small town, the characters in Harry Potter all have different personalities, like pranksters, bullies, Nerds, Dorks/losers, looney Lovegood, poor people, rich people, it is so diverse and relatable. Twilight-everyone is the same. I can also go on forever about this but I don't even think you're smart enough to read this far. Stupid muggle 12 year old fan girl. Btw a troll is among the hundreds of different creatures in the magical world of Harry Potter. Get your facts straight stupid.

This is beautiful, and I think that the characters are so perfect because they were written to be so human. They all had flaws, and they learned to overcome those and develop as people. You are absolutely right, they had amazing character development.

It was incredible growing up with them. Most would agree we saw them change so much, yet Bella was just as useless and love obsessed as she was in the first book in the last book. It's not that she likes the twilight series that gets me, it's that she was so wrong on so many different levels. She didn't even know how many Harry Potter books there are. Any basic 15 second google search could have told her there were seven.

Well for starters you need to go back and read the books again because you have completely missed the point of all 7 books. First of all Harry potter is about even if from the outside you don’t look brave and courageous you can be you have to look inside you and find the brave person that others know you can be. It also teaches us to look forward because even if we have a bad past the future can be bright and wonderful. It also teaches us that we should never be afraid in the face of fear. Be brave and fight but never be arrogant. It also teaches us that if you have a gut instinct something is wrong you should find out because it could help a lot of people avoid getting hurt. It teaches us to find out who a person really is not to judge them because of what others say is true. It teaches us to stand up for what is right even if it means rebelling for the right reasons. It teaches us to fight for who we love and take a chance because they might love you back. It teaches us that sometimes we have to be the ones who stand up and fight and not leave it to someone else to do it for us. It also teaches us that we can find light even in the darkest of places. Also that we all have bad inside of us but we must choose to act on good because that’s what makes us good people. It teaches us that family and friends is the most important thing and that everyone needs help sometimes and we shouldn’t be afraid to ask. It teaches that power is not what we should be fighting for it should be love, friendship and hope. It also teaches us that we should never let anyone get us down because we could be that one person in the end that saves the day. It also teaches us to be selfless and noble, that sometimes you need to sacrifice yourself for the one you love and that’s okay. Also it teaches us that we shouldn’t chose anything over love, we shouldn’t be bitter and hateful because that’s how you will end up. On the subject of the characters Hermione represents powerful women. She shows girls that wit determination and resilience can pay off. She also teaches us that women can be brave, that they can be at the front of the battle fighting for what right and sometimes girls can does it better then the men. She taught us that nothing should stop you from being with the one you love. She was there fighting for what she believed in, unlike Bella who sat there for 5 movies pulling a stupid face. And Ron, Ron’s character isn’t underdeveloped. He shows the world not to live in someone’s shadow. Never let anyone out shine you. He teaches us to be brave just as Harry does but he also teaches us to stand by people because Ron could have walked away unlike Harry because this was Harry’s destiny but Ron stood by him, just as brave just as courageous and fought until the very end. Ron taught us that we can lose out way sometimes but that doesn’t mean we can’t find out way back. J.K Rowling created a beautiful world for us to believe in, for us to escape to if we ever needed it. And we are all truly thankful that the magic will live on forever.
That is why Harry Potter is one of the best stories ever told and no one can deny that. Some people just look at it and see people waving wands but that doesn’t mean that they’re right it just means they don’t believe and let themselves see what we see. So I feel sorry for you and hope one day you can go back and truly see what Harry Potter is about.

You're really using the word ignorant when you're blatantly ignorant yourself? You've just bashed Harry Potter without even getting basic facts straight, like how many movies there are. You could at least get that right.

So, you understand what Harry Potter's about? Good for you. So you realise that you're wrong about Harry Potter being 'dumm'? Because Harry Potter is about the true meaning of friendship and loyalty and bravery and fighting for what you believe in and Twilight is about a girl falling for a vampire and then not being able to choose between him and her best friend, who is a werewolf. See, I've actually read both series, unlike you and actually know what I'm talking about.

Oh, and please fix your grammar. If you're going to hate on something, don't embarrass yourself even more. Thank you.

Well excuse me but when you talked about Hermione you perfectly described Bella. Harry Potter is a wonderful novel filled with complex an sophisticated characters while Twilight is a vampire love story including Tinkerbell, Shirtless Boy, and Fail Girl. I cannot believe you would make an argument on the side of Twilight. Harry is so much more than a sparkling vampire like your precious Edward. Bella tried to kill herself when Edward left. Why? Because she was a weak, useless, incompetent like you.

My god, I cannot believe what I am reading. You say in you other comments that you are a Potterhead when at the end of your rant you ask why Harry Potter is even good at all, did you actually read over what you had typed because if you had I hope you would have noticed all of the flaws in it, there are spelling mistakes that you should of learned in grade one or two. I hope you all the best in trying to succeed in life.
