I disagree with this quote. It actually kinda me off. First of all 12-14 year old girls have had -ed its mandatory. They understand sexual relationships I don't know one who doesn't. Second you have no idea what they have been through so don't call them a s.lut they could be using it as a way to cope with something traumatic in there life, and you calling them a makes it worse. I am 15 I know exactly how sexual relationships work I've always done what I want with my body. I''m considered a 's.lut' a 'w.' a 'druggie' a 'pothead' a 'junkie' and allot worse but one thing I can tell you is you have no IDEA what I have been through and there's lots of reasons I act the way I do. I'm not a 's.lut' because of it and neither is a girl only a year younger at 14 or 2 years younger or three. No one should be judged no matter what age by if they are a s.lut or not. You may think you have an idea about what its like to be one of those girls but you have no idea. You only know what its like to be yourself so stop judging. Theirs nothing wrong with these girls dressing that way or acting that way if everyone else can do it to.

I'm thirteen and I don't disagree with this but I would like to point out that a LOT of teenagers are not like this AT ALL. I don't do any of that and neither do any of my friends... js

There's an 8th grader in my town that's pregnant. There's a girl that SHOULD have graduated with me who isn't yet 18 and has 2 kids and is expecting her third. A 15 year old SOPHOMORE in my town had a baby. Crazy, crazy, crazy.

I totally agree with this. I don't think that girls should be judged by what they do with their body, but when they're 13 and being promiscuous and acting like adults there's something wrong. The problem is that many people are afraid to say this because if they do, they're being 'judgmental'.

On the brightside, while they're unemployed and drunk, we will have an easier time getting a job because there's only a few of us thats not screwed up. Just saying ^-^

You really have no right to say anything. None. Maybe some of the things those kids are doing, they're using as coping mechanisms. I drank when I was 14, I'm sober now, but I did it as a coping mechanism. Maybe they dress differently than you do as an attention thing, possibly not getting attention at home. You don't know. And sleeping with people, sure, it may be wrong at their age, but that doesn't mean anything. Again, it could be the only way they feel loved. And we have people, like you, judging them. When you might not even know half the story. Stop blaming them. It's their life, their choices, and absolutely none of your business. Just thought I'd put in my input.

Just because there's a reason for something doesn't make that thing okay. I'd bet that most of the young girls who are sleeping around or drinking or using drugs are doing so because they don't realize the full potential of the consequences. I personally think it would be a lot better if somebody would stand up and say,"Hey, this thing you're doing isn't really a good idea."

I'm not judging them based on what they wear or their choices. That isn't the point of the quote. A female can dress however she'd like to dress and do whatever they want to do with their bodies and their lives. However, there is obviously something wrong with the fact that middle school aged girls are acting like grown women. Obviously, this isn't putting in every tiny detail and situation, but the basis of the quote is that young girls shouldn't be acting like this.

What she's probably saying, they might adapt the wrong attitude and do bad in school etc. It just affects their lives majorly. Kicked out of school won't look good on a job application. Maybe they are doing this because they're not loved, but it's mostly peer pressure or popularity that drives them to wearing stuff that's majorly inappropriate. I honestly don't mean to upset you in any way, I just think this is aimed at 12-14 year olds who do this type of thing for popularity and attention from boys. I have no right to judge you and I'm sure you're awesome:3

I'm thirteen, and I hate sitting here watching kids I've been with since primary school turn into complete fools of themselves.
I remember when they were kids & they would wear their hair is two pigtails, wear 'Hannah Montana' Shirts & all, and now, most of them wear denim underwear.

I am 13, and the other 13 to 14-year-olds at my school are awful. They were these really tight mini skirts that barely cover their backsides, and the necklines of their shirts are super low. They dye their hair a different color every other day, and they seem to be dating a different person every week.
If my mother saw me walking out the door like that, she'd murder me. oO

I can't really criticize them dying their hair because I started dying my hair when I was 12 (because I didn't want to "look like my ethnicity"...long story)
But I'm in high school and if I dressed like that I'd be dead.

when i was 12 i was like "if i were this shirt i'm going to hell" let alone sleeping with someone or drinking.
couldn't agree more with this.
it needs to be said more often.

Even if I wear a shirt like that, I'm still scared my mom will kill me.
It's insane, though. Like they're in middle school. They need to stop.

The clothing part I don't agree with 100%, but the 'before they even have substantial knowledge of how and sexual relationships work.' part is perfect. Like, 12-14 year olds are unlikely to have had comprehensive sêx ed, making the risk of pregnancy and STD/I waaaay higher.

Fourteen isn't even that young you only have four years left at home when you're fourteen, and you get your license to drive in two years or permit and in some places you can even legally drink...

I really agree with you on this, I'm fourteen and despise being treated like a kid or talked down too--I don't do any of this but I definitely feel as if you're sort of talking down to younger people anyways, because I can't honestly say I've stuck to super modest clothing, hey if you've got it, flaunt it right haha? Not too much of course, but I think it's okay to show off your body.

You're right Hale. I see the 7th & 8th graders from middle school and it irrates me to no end. When i was 12 or 14 i wasn't wearing Hollister or PINK. I just started wearing that stuff this year. Like don't be in such a big hurry to grow up

It shouldn't have anything to do with the brands, really neither store has specified that there clothing is for older people. If you like what they have there, you're allowed to buy it regardless of age.
