I lay next to her in the hospital bed, she was so beautiful. ’’I really like you,’’ I said. I had never been one to be nervous but right now, I was probably going to have a heart attack. She looked at me, her emerald green eyes widening and she just looked at me for a few minutes, those few minutes felt like hours.
’’I-I don’t l-’’ she began but stopped and a moronic grin spread across her face. ’’I like you too,’’ she corrected.
’’Really?’’ I asked, excitedly. She just nodded before our lips met and we moved in sync. After we broke apart she looked at me for a short moment.
’’Why- why do you like me? I’ve got cancer… I’m going to die.’’
’’Well apart from the fact that you’re beautiful, funny, flawless, and nice? You’re perfect in every single way and when I’m with you I’m happy…’’
’’Really?’’ It was her turn to ask that one simple word and I nodded.
’’So does this make you my girlfriend?’’
’’No.’’
’’Yes!- wait, what? No?’’
’’We haven’t even been on a date yet.’’ I rolled my eyes but grinned.
’’Will you go on a date with me and then be my girlfriend?’’ I asked, hopefully.
’’Yes,’’ she said with a cheeky grin on her face. ’’I’m still confused,’’ she confessed after half an hour of just talking to each other.
’’About?’’
’’I-I don’t get why you like me? I’ve got cancer for god’s sake! I’ve got bruises everywhere, I am all bones and to top it all off I’m bald! You, you shouldn’t like me… you should feel sorry for me like everybody else, why don’t you feel sorry for me?’’ she asked. ’’Everybody else does, even my parents.’’
’’When my brother had cancer, he hated when ever people would say ‘sorry’ to him and I guess he’s got a point, why would anybody want people to continuously say sorry to them? I wouldn’t.’’
’’Thankyou.’’
’’Thankyou for what?’’
’’For not feeling sorry for me.’’

’’Okay, I’m going to make a deal with you,’’ Arianna said. She had got out of the hospital a week ago and we still hadn’t gone on our date.
’’What is it?’’ I asked.
’’Well if you still want to go on that date then you’ll get me a packet of smokes.’’ Yes, we were currently fighting about her wanting a packet of smokes so she could finish another thing on her list. She wasn’t old enough to get a packet, which reminded me her birthday was in a few weeks.
’’No, Rianna.’’
’’Please?’’ she pouted. Jamie or Nicole would’ve got them for her but Jamie’s away fort he weekend with his family and Nicole’s  baby sitting her sisters baby all weekend.
’’Arianna, I said no.’’
’’Oh c’mon,’’ she sniffled. ’’I-I just want to get this list finished so I can spend time with you.’’
’’Fine.’’
