How to Solve a Murder Without Being Murdered:

Eggs,
milk and bread; later that day my mother sent me to the local
grocery store to get these three things but I came back with so
much more.
I walked into the town's local grocery store dripping wet
from the rain outside. It seemed like the whole town was talking
about Bethany's murder. Nothing has been so exciting or
tragedic since the car accident of '96. Everywhere I walked,
people were talking about it.
I almost dropped the eggs in my hand when I saw Bethany's
mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Matthews, talking to Mr.
Peterson, the grocery store owner. I quickly ran into the empty
ilse next to them so I could ease drop. "I'm so sorry
for your loss. It's such a shame, she was such a bright young
lady." Mr. Peterson said to them. "I know, it's
such a shame. She was going to go so far in life." Mr.
Matthews, Bethany's dad answered back. "I always
thought, since what happened to Amy, Bethany would make up for it
all." Mrs. Matthews added. Amy? Who was this Amy? Why was
she a part of this? What did she mean by 'since what happened
to Amy'?
"Ease drop much?" a familiar voice startled me. I spun
around, nearly dropping the eggs again to find Kyle smirking at
me. "I was trying to get clues, for your information."
I snapped. He chuckled, "Oh, right? You think since the
police can't get to the bottom of this you can?" I
rolled my eyes, "Trying never hurt anyone. Now, you want to
know who killed your best friend, right?" I asked. He
shrugged, "I guess so." I looked around to make sure
nobody was around us. "Tell me who Amy is. I heard Mrs.
Matthews talking about her to Mr. Peterson." I demanded.
"I'll tell you if you go out to dinner with me
tonight." he said cleverly. I rolled my eyes, "Look, I
know you're used to girls being all over you for whatever
reason, but I'm not looking for a boyfriend. I just want to
solve this murder." He had no idea how to react to a
rejection since I'm sure he didn't have many. Yet, I had
no idea why. He was so 'mysterious' and sketcy, like I
would be scared to go out on a date with him. "No dinner, no
answers. Believe me, I know a lot of stuff you want to
know." he said stubornly. "Fine, I'll go to dinner
with you but it's not a date, got that?" I snapped at
him. He chuckled effortlessly, "Sure. See you then Haley. Or
should I say Nancy Drew?"
I
figured out the formating.. kind of. haha. Sorry this one is
not spaced enough, i'll get it right eventually!
