Saying there should be a Day of Silence for straight people because there is one for gay people is like saying we should have a White History Month since there is a Black History Month.
Straight people don't get bullied for being straight. The Day of Silence is simply a campaign to silence bullying against the LGBT community.
We wouldn't have to focus so much on gay rights if they actually existed. It's great to have your beliefs about marriage, but don't try and force them on other people. Because chances are not everyone has the same beliefs as you.
If your beliefs go against gay marriage, then just don't involve yourself with it. Don't try and make everyone see things your way and take people's rights away.
What's going to happen if a guy marries a guy he loves? Unless the world will explode and millions of people die, then there shouldn't be a problem.
Not hating on your opinion. But just as you're sick of gay people trying to get equal rights, I'm sick of people making it their business. When it most definitely is not.
Just live your own life and stop worrying about other people's.

Personally, I think that in a world this uncertain, where there's no guarantee of a happy tomorrow, we should celebrate the beautiful things, like love. Whether two men or two women get married isn't anybody's business but their own.
Sure, the whole idea has been politicised, but people are fighting for same- marriage because it's one of the things we CAN change that's so unjust about the world. reply

I do understand what you mean and abbfab99 has explained it beautifully but if gay people were treated normally as straight people would then gay people would calm down. Like I'm not straight or anything and I just think that everyone should just be treated equally, if I want to marry a woman then I should be able to.
When we get the rights we deserve and be treated equally then it's not going to be a huge fuss anymore but I understand and respect your opinion reply

I totally agree. I don't support gay marriage either because I'm a cristian and the bible clearly speaks against it. It's like people being gay is forced down my throat. reply

The day of silence is a protest, not a way to share your sexuality with others. There isn't a DOS for straight people because they don't need it; straight is accepted in our society. Saying straight people need one is kind of like if somebody said in the 60's "Wheres the Civil Rights movement for white people? White people have problems, too!" Yeah, white people had problems, but they already had civil rights so it wasn't necessary. Homosexuals trumpet their sexuality to show that despite all the judgement they'll get and have already gotten, they aren't willing to change who they are. reply

I'm just guessing here. But since longlonglong ago, people always thought it was natural to marry heterosexually. So I'm guessing that the DOS for gay people is because they've been discriminated for so long. Almost as if every day is for heterosexual marriage. It kinda bothers me reply
