Chapter 15
LIZA
“I’m proud of you girl,” Ellis said, giving me a half smile and playfully punching my shoulder.
I had just told him everything that happened with Ryan.
He seemed happy for me, but there was something in his eyes that told me that something was wrong.
“You finally broke up the worst couple on the planet,” he said, taking my mind off the thought.
I smiled wide, proud of myself.
“Will Sydney be mad at me?” I signed.
He shrugged. “She’ll probably be too embarrassed to come anywhere near us.”
We both giggled, and got out of the car.
SYDNEY
Honestly, this spying thing was getting a little old.
But it was resourceful.
Ellis rolled up his window, and him and Liza got out of the car.
I clenched my fists together, growing angrier by the second.
It was time to talk to this loser, and get her out of my way.
I began walking towards the group, head held high, confident on what I was about to do.
Trust no b*tch, fear no man.
LIZA
Before going to class, I quickly stopped into the bathroom.
I did my business, and came out to wash my hands.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a girl staring at me smugly.
“Hello Liza,” I saw her say.
I turned to her. She had on a maniacal smile, and it scared me.
It was Sydney.
My heart raced. She looked angry.
“Can we talk?” she asked, tilting her head slightly.
I neither said nor wrote anything, I was too afraid.
She moved closer to me.
“I heard you and Ryan kissed,” she said, the smile never leaving her face.
I could feel my cheeks get hot and red.
My hands flew to my face to cover it up.
She giggled. “Aw you guys are so cute. You really like him, don’t you?” she asked.
She seemed so nice, and I softened. I guess Ryan broke up with her already.
She seemed pretty cool with it.
I nodded in response to her question, finally at ease with her sudden friendliness.
She stepped closer, and suddenly her smile was gone, and she was glaring angrily at me.
“Well newsflash, b*tch. Ryan is mine. And I think you should stop being all lovedovey with him,” she snapped.
Okay, friendliness, gone.
My heart began to pick up speed again, and my back touched the wall as Sydney ganged up on me.
“I know you went to Jackson Probe’s. And I can send you right back,” she threatened.
I didn’t doubt her for a second. I heard from numerous people that she has connections and influences everywhere.
“How about we make a deal,” she said. “You stop flirting with my boyfriend, and you can stay here with Ellis. And you will never have to go back to that miserable school.”
She smiled deviously.
How did she know that I was miserable there?
“Deal?” she asked, holding out her hand.
I hesitated, but then took her hand and we shook.
“Great,” she said. “See you at lunch.”
She waved her thin fingers at me, and then walked out the door.
I felt my heart sink.
What was I going to tell Ryan?
