Sunsets - Chapter Two
Rosie nodded then turned around.
Anthony had made himself comfortable on the white lounge chair.
Rosie cleared her throat as she walked over.
"Hey hey!" He grinned, sitting up.
"Let's go."
Anthony winked, "Race 'ya!"
Then the two took off running.
The distance between the Gulf of Mexico and the hotel was about a mile; it was security incase of a hurricane.
The sand was white, but it was littered with coconuts, dead crabs, and hunks of driftwood.
Halfway to the water, Rosie caught up with Anthony.
Not wanting to run anymore, she stuck out her leg and tripped him.
He made a face, "What was that for?"
Rosie sat down in the sand next to him, out of breath, "I.... I do-don't wanna run anymore."
Anthony just laughed.
Rosie smiled and looked at the hotel.
It was a bright yellow with about eight stories.
Off to it's right was a restaurant and the infamous 'Tiki Bar'.
"So," Anthony said, still trying to catch his breath, "How old are you?"
Rosie fell back in the sand, "I'm fourteen," she puffed.
"That's cool," Anthony said, falling back as well, "Me too."
Rosie nodded, "So, ummm, do you like, live here?"
"Yeah," Anthony said, sitting up, "Right there."
Rosie followed Anthony's gaze; it landed on a three-story beach house.
It was beautiful!
There were palm trees out front, and the sun gracefully bounced off it's intracite white paint-job.
Rosie's jaw dropped, "It's beautiful!"
Anthony laughed, "That's nothing, you should see some of my friend's houses."
Rosie shook her head.
"Hey, c'mon," Anthony yelled, jumping up, "We've only got till sunset!"
