Okay, this is awkward.
The top quotes are all about how Witty is slowly being abandoned.
This is most likely because of school and homework.
I can almost guarantee that by summer time, there will be at least 100 faves for the top quotes of the day.
Some people remember how quotes had 2,000 faves EACH DAY.
Quotes that only had around 300 faves were deleted, because they "didn't have enough faves."
Now, the top quotes of the MONTH have like, 200.
New people are joining Witty, and they're leaving because they look at the top quotes and see a bunch of complaints.
We should all contribute and make nice quotes with nice formats and maybe something that will catch an eye.
I miss when Witty had a whole lot of people. There was a lot of drama, but there was also a lot of people who you could talk to and become friends with.
We should all try to pitch in to make Witty better.
I'll start by making quotes with formats that look nice, and avoid using Tumblr jokes.
People went to Tumblr because that's where originality comes from. When they come here, the see the same thing over and over again.
Let's try to bring out our funny side.

Types of Wittians:
Type one (the nostologic wittian): Makes many quotes about 'the old witty' and complains about how much they don't like the new one.
Type two (the who cares wittian): The one who generally doesn't care about 'the old witty' or 'witty wars' or anything else aside from expressing themselves.
Type three (the new wittian): Just started, probably uses comic sans, doesn't know who Steve is and mostly just writes quotes about their day.
Type four (the butthurt wittian): The Wittian who generally can't take a joke, and gets upset when anyone says anything even slightly against what they believe.
Type five (the classic wittian): The Wittians that everyone knows, whether they like them or not. Probably has had at least one hate account made about them.

When I first joined witty you had to get 2000 faves to get a top quote and it meant something. Most of the quotes were original, not from tumblr or whatever. They were quotes worth reading. I'm not saying all quotes nowadays are crap, but many if them are.
Witty isn't for updating people on your life. I am guilty of this myself, but I'm starting to see a lot more of it.
I remember when witty was what it was designed to be.

throwback week. Steve can change the witty format to the old one, and everyone can post their old quotes from before. It would be like the old witty, you know?

Okay, all the 'Top Witty People' have had their fair share of rant about this, and I personally agree with them.
Not only are the 'Fave if...' quotes becoming far too frequent, but people fave them and respond with hate. It's unnessessary to hate on them, but the quote is no better either.
The rate of Witty ressession is astronomically too high, old Wittians are leaving, and the new ones are entering a hostile battle-field. It's up to us to keep Witty running, we need to do a better job at it.
Rajsonkar and BringMeTheEric's fight. It's not my buisness, and I honestly think it's not yours either, let them argue it out, it will pass soon enough.
The texting talk. Using 'u' and '2' instead of 'you' and 'too' makes you look uneducated and does not help Witty look like a better place. Check the Top Quotes. Do many of them have 'text talk'? No. They don't.
Okay, this next one is my biggie.
THE COMPLAINTS TO STEVE.
These are childish, unnessesary, petty complaints that make you look like a petty pitiful person. Steve created this site for people to express opinions. Opinions you may NOT agree with. You can voice your opinion, I'm all for it, but that does NOT mean, run over to Steve's page and tattle and complain about it. Also, complaining about the site itself? Really? He's trying his best to make this an enjoyable place for YOU! Don't make it any more difficult for him than it already is.
Hate comments are rampid. They make people feel bad for expressing their opinion, so instead of typing 'you're a d/mb a/ss and you're wrong. I'm right b/tch!' why not just tell them what you think and drop it.
Ok, I'll admit, I'm a slight hypocrite, if something bashes my religion- I get a little hateful. And in the first few Witty changes I complained a bit, but I've grown to like the 'New Witty.'
Can we stop the hate and arguing? And instead just write some quotes worth writing? Witty is a place to make quotes to express not impress. To be yourself, not be an a*s.
Let's help make Witty a nicer place.

How to see quotes by the catagory:
Say I wanted to look at the top love quotes in the past 24 hours,
in the address bar I would write
wittyprofiles.com/love/hot/24hrs
And then for other catagories you just change out the love.
To look at other time periods you just change the 24hrs at the end of the link to:
Now: 1hrs
Today: 24hrs
This Week: 7days
This Month: 30days
This Year: 365days
Ever: 1000days

So today is August 15th, 2014.
As of today I have been logged off of witty for 2 years.
I joined in May of 2011.
At that time, there were top quotes of the day that had hundreds of favorites and comments with discussion and so many amazing people telling their story and looking for advice and giving support and being a metaphorical shoulder to cry on and just all around being a community- no- a family of people who were there for you to love and accept you just the way you are. We could voice opinions and back them up and argue and bicker and fight and love and be happy. We could let our feelings out and talk about how things made us react and we could understand eachother. There were so so many people who you could make friends with. Some people even went so far as to go out in the real world and meet them. Witty was a haven.
Now as I look at the amount of people who are online right now it makes me so incredibly sad. It's heartbreaking to see people who were so close just up and leave. There used to be hundreds of people on this websight at a time. I remember crashing the websight more than once because of too many quotes being added or too many people on there at a time. As much as one might think that you can out grow witty, you can't. No matter where you travel or who you meet you can always come back here. At least thats what I thought. I thought this was a safe place that you could always come back to, but I guess I was wrong. Everyone left.
I would really like to think that the people who are on here today are still the same kind of people who were here to talk when you needed them a few years ago. Maybe they are, but as I scroll though page after page of new quotes I have yet to find one that was copmpletely original. Its disappointing.
If you have gotten this far then I want to personally congradulate you on being one of the few people left who actually give a crap about what someone thinks. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my opinion. I apreciate you. If anyone ever decides that they need a friend or a third party to talk about your problems with I really hope no one hesitates to contact me on here. If you do so I will give you my email or phone number or facebook or twitter or kik or skype or anything else. I will be continuously checking my witty account every day unill you all decide you don't need me anymore. My goal is to try and return witty to its formal glory.
Please spread this message as much as possible. It is extremely important to me that everyone know that there are still people out there ready and willing to be your ally. I really hope I didn't write this for nothing.

Don't like something?
Do something about it. Complaining isn't going to achieve anything.
For example, I was tired of nothing but black & white quotes on witty,
so I taught myself the basics of html codes, and now I'm experimenting.
It's hard because it's new, but you know what? It brought some colour back.
Just little things like that. ♥

When everyone knew FramingMathew and SocietyKilledTheTeenager?
When the top quotes had 2000+ faves?
When One Direction literally took over Witty?
When we first got blocking?
When you could refresh the newest quotes section and there would be three new pages?
The old witty format?
Witty turned pink for a day?
When you had to CREATE a format, not just click a "random format" button?
No format day? Every quote looked the same!

It is pretty sad that I have literally never been bullied
until I came back on this site in December
I remember when Witty was a place of safety
where people understood you and didn't judge
where people dished out compliments instead of insults
and when going on this side made me happy.
Not once did I ever think I would be told to "Kill myself"
From people on Witty. I have never been bullied
and I have never been mean to another person
This website is a good thing, don't ruin it.

I've given up looking at top quotes because it's getting repetitive and doesn't interest me anymore. & that makes me [kind of sad] because I really enjoyed reading them. I mean, that doesn't mean I want to leave Witty; I'm a member because I enjoy making quotes, not reading them. Sure, it's exciting to see what you lot are thinking, and yeah, I do have some favourite wittians, but the real thing I like about this website is that it's almost like a [library] for my thoughts - Witty lets me categorise the jumble of thoughts in my mind, and put away some of the better ones. That's what I really enjoy about this website, and it just makes me sad that so many members don't experience that at all because they're too busy [copying].
