It's sad.
I checked witty today out of nowhere expecting to have a bunch of nostalgia.
But i didnt.
Witty has changed so much.
I miss when the top quotes had favorites in the thousands every day;
Not less than one hundred.

So today is August 15th, 2014.
As of today I have been logged off of witty for 2 years.
I joined in May of 2011.
At that time, there were top quotes of the day that had hundreds of favorites and comments with discussion and so many amazing people telling their story and looking for advice and giving support and being a metaphorical shoulder to cry on and just all around being a community- no- a family of people who were there for you to love and accept you just the way you are. We could voice opinions and back them up and argue and bicker and fight and love and be happy. We could let our feelings out and talk about how things made us react and we could understand eachother. There were so so many people who you could make friends with. Some people even went so far as to go out in the real world and meet them. Witty was a haven.
Now as I look at the amount of people who are online right now it makes me so incredibly sad. It's heartbreaking to see people who were so close just up and leave. There used to be hundreds of people on this websight at a time. I remember crashing the websight more than once because of too many quotes being added or too many people on there at a time. As much as one might think that you can out grow witty, you can't. No matter where you travel or who you meet you can always come back here. At least thats what I thought. I thought this was a safe place that you could always come back to, but I guess I was wrong. Everyone left.
I would really like to think that the people who are on here today are still the same kind of people who were here to talk when you needed them a few years ago. Maybe they are, but as I scroll though page after page of new quotes I have yet to find one that was copmpletely original. Its disappointing.
If you have gotten this far then I want to personally congradulate you on being one of the few people left who actually give a crap about what someone thinks. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my opinion. I apreciate you. If anyone ever decides that they need a friend or a third party to talk about your problems with I really hope no one hesitates to contact me on here. If you do so I will give you my email or phone number or facebook or twitter or kik or skype or anything else. I will be continuously checking my witty account every day unill you all decide you don't need me anymore. My goal is to try and return witty to its formal glory.
Please spread this message as much as possible. It is extremely important to me that everyone know that there are still people out there ready and willing to be your ally. I really hope I didn't write this for nothing.

It's so sad...
I used to come on witty every day. The daily top
quotes would have over 1000 favorites or more..
The monthly quotes had about 8000 favorites..
Witty was so active. So alive. It's so sad to see
how little activity there is these days. This website,
the girls on it, all the inspirational quotes, everything
helped me out of a very sad time in my life. I really hope
it's still doing that for all of you..

On a different account,
I joined witty on July 10, 2011.
I wanted something cool and unique to put on my stardoll presentation.
Instead, I found a whole world full of amazing people.
Little did I know these people would end up making me a better person, and saving my life.
Unfortunately most of those people have left witty now,
but I want to thank those who have stayed or returned.
As Steve said, witty is gowing through puberty.
We need to help.
Please, get your friends to join witty. As embarassing as it may be for them to see your profile, we need new members.
I remember when the top hourly quotes had 500 likes, not 2.
I remember when a new quote was added every second, not every half hour.
Help witty through puberty, just as it helped you.

Who else was on Witty when we were obsessing over One Direction, crying over Dumbledores death and the end of HP, making Plot Twist quotes, doing WittyWeek (let's find eachother!) and the long quotes about nothing..

I miss the old witty!
I miss funny quotes and jokes.
I miss tons of really good stories.
I miss the family enviroment.
Now almost every quote is about how depressed someone is or how the boy they like dosent like them back. I understand that life is hard for people but this is witty profiles. The quotes are supposed to be funny not depresseing.

Okay, this is awkward.
The top quotes are all about how Witty is slowly being abandoned.
This is most likely because of school and homework.
I can almost guarantee that by summer time, there will be at least 100 faves for the top quotes of the day.
Some people remember how quotes had 2,000 faves EACH DAY.
Quotes that only had around 300 faves were deleted, because they "didn't have enough faves."
Now, the top quotes of the MONTH have like, 200.
New people are joining Witty, and they're leaving because they look at the top quotes and see a bunch of complaints.
We should all contribute and make nice quotes with nice formats and maybe something that will catch an eye.
I miss when Witty had a whole lot of people. There was a lot of drama, but there was also a lot of people who you could talk to and become friends with.
We should all try to pitch in to make Witty better.
I'll start by making quotes with formats that look nice, and avoid using Tumblr jokes.
People went to Tumblr because that's where originality comes from. When they come here, the see the same thing over and over again.
Let's try to bring out our funny side.

Adding my input on the New // Old Witty debate that has been happening lately.
This quote is kind of irrelevant bc i didnt even know about this webiste till Feb 26th
but i like it here. Some people say it was "better a few years ago" and i cant say it's better now bc as i said before
i dont know but so far this website has been pretty great for me. I like reading the quotes, and posting them
(even though most of the time its just lyrics or a movie quote) and people seem nice.
