that
each molecule of concrete beneath
my feet swallowed me whole.
I’ve been trapped in a labyrinth
of gray and black pebbles
for what feels like years,
and every day I can hear
the pluvial weather splashing
all around me, but i never feel wet.
I spend every waking moment
wishing that your arms could
hold me closer than the gravel,
and hoping that you could
hear my hoarse voice desperately
screaming your name.
