APPLY!!! You're so amazing, you could easily make a good living while doing something that makes you happy. I think you should go for it, you could very well be one of the biggest authors in the world. Do it :)

I think you definitely should :) you're already great, and all college is going to do is help you get better which should eliminate any worries about people not being interested :)
And don't stress about the story taking a while! Pace yourself and it'll be great, definitely worth the wait :)
