Sunset ch

I Was laying on my best friends bed as she looked in the mirror
putting on makeup.
She was getting ready to go see her boyfriend and invited me over
for a bit before she left.
"You know you don't need make up. You look better
without it" I said to her.
She shrugged and continued to apply her eyeliner.
Trish was 15 years old, 5'10 tall and skinny. She had pale
skin but it looked good on her.
She had long black hair and what they call sunflower eyes.
Trish was really outgoing. The type of person people want to
be.
Some people think we are sisters. I can see how sometimes, but
other times i cant.
I was 15 years old and tall but only 5'7.
I had brown eyes and long brown highlighted hair that seemed to
never stay straight like Trish's did.
I had slightly tan skin and I was skinny.
I was the type of person who cared about there looks but not to
much.
Trish cared a lot about her looks which is probably why she
always looked like a model.
In the end, I envied her.
She had the looks, the confidence, the lasting
relationship.
But for once I got lucky.
I had just gotten a new boyfriend. Ryan Thornton.
My confidence was high for once and I was also starting to care
more about my looks.
"So who's this guy your dating? The one you didnt bother
to tell me about last night
and I had to find out on facebook that he asked you out
yesturday." Trish said.
"Ryan" I said. "How did he ask you out? Where were
you guys? Give me details! " She said.
I gave her a run through of the previous night.
How Ryan came over for a movie night and at the end of the night,
in my driveway he asked me out under the Christmas lights. I also
told her how he lifted me off my feet and kissed me.
Just telling her what happened last night gave me butterflies in
my stomach all over again.
My mind went back to me and Ryan's first date.
I remember a week before he had canceled the date to try to get
back with his ex.
Two days later he told me if I wanted, the date could happen
again
since him and his ex wouldn't be getting back together.
But he'd understand if I didn't want to rush into
anything after he had just canceled on me.
I agreed to go though. And it turned out to be one of the best
decisions I've made so far.
Ryan was perfect.
Ryan was 18 years old. He was 6 foot tall and skinny. Buzz cut
hair and light skinned.
He was outgoing and really funny.
He had a job at a pet shop and he drove! Which is a huge plus
compared to my ex boyfriends.
And he was mine! "Earth to Katie!" Trish said as she
waved her hand in front of my face.
I came out of my thoughts and said "yes"? "I have
to go on my date now ill see you at school tomorrow." She
said.
I got up off her bed and walked with her out of her house.
Her bf and his mom were waiting in car for her. I said good bye
and walked the 2 houses down to my house.
I was lucky to live so close to my best friend unlike some girls
who there best friend lives far away.
I crashed on tmy couch and fell asleep for the rest of the
day

It was Friday and I was sitting in my last class watching the
clock Tick away slowly.
I was going to spend the night at my friend Liz's house so I
could stay out late and see Ryan.
My teacher Mr. Montgomery was going on about poetry
and assigning us a poetry project for the weekend.
But I was only slightly paying attention when Ryan texted me.
'Can't wait to see you babe'.
A huge smile spread across my face. I was so excited.
After school I went home with Liz. She let me borrow a outfit of
hers and helped straighten my hair and do my makeup.
Ryan would be coming over after work and taking us to a
festival.
Then Liz's boyfriend would meet up with us later.
Around 7pm there was a truck pulling into the driveway and not
long after a knock on the door.
Ryan was here.
