Tell Me A Lie
~Chapter 1~
I stop the treadmill after I've run for two hours straight. I haven't eaten anything at all today, my bodyis running off of nothing. "Taylor, are you home?" Nialls voice shouts from down the hall, I roll my eyes. Who else would be using the treadmill? "Yup, I'll be there in a sec," I get off the treadmill, my legs are like jelly, I almost fall over. Wow. "What do you want to do for dinner? The lads think they wanna go out tonight.." He trails off, I think he's eating. "That's fine, you can go with them," I say, meeting him in the kitchen. I put my sweaty head on his chest while his arms wrap around my waist. "You're invited, love, you, Danielle and Eleanor," He says as if it's obvious.
"Oh.." I try to make an excuse as to why I can't go. It'll be hard to not eat with everyone watching. "My mom was actually hoping I'd go home tonight, family dinner," I shrug. I'm only eighteen, I still live at home, but when Niall is home, I do spend most of my time at his apartment. "Your brother's back from college?" He asks, crinkling his eyebrows together in confusion. My brother goes to college in the US, far away from our Englang home.
"For two weeks," I smile. "Please call her and ask to reschedule?" Niall begs, making a pouting face. How the hell do I resist that? "Fine," I roll my eyes. My stomach growls, loud enough for him to hear, and big enough for him to feel the vibration. "You should eat something," He notes, letting go of me and opening a cabinet. "After all the calories I just burned?" I ask. His jaw drops, his eyes wide. He knows I'm not the time to care about calories and weight.. Or I wasn't up until recently anyway. "Like are you totally crazy?" I ask in a silly way, pretending to be joking. He realizes my joke and laughs. I grab a granola bar and take a bite, plastering a fake smile on my face. While I chew, my mind screams at me, reminding me of how fat I still am.

"I love your top, where'd you get it?" Danielle asks, touching the soft fabric while we wait for a table. I shrink away from her tiny self, not risking the chance of her feeling my extra weight. "It's old, I'm not sure," I blow it off. Once we're seated the boys start acting goofy, us girls all share that Can you believe them? look. Eleanor and Danielle order their meals, so do the guys. They all sound so good to an empty stomach. "I'll just have the salad, please," I smile at the waitress, trying to ignore the look I'm getting from Niall. No one else thinks anything of it, but no one else knows me as well as he does. "So, we have news," Liam says, holding Danielles hand across the table, I suck in a breath, thinking she's pregnent or they're engaged or something.
Everyone else does the same thing. "OH, no, nothing like that!" Liam laughs. I sigh in relief. "No, band news," He corrects himself. The guys seem to know what he's talking about, they all smile excitedly. Eleanor, Danielle and I are the only ones who don't know. "We're doing a new music video, the management said you girls can be in it!" Harry says, smiling hugely. The girls are excited, I try to keep my face smiling, but I can tell it's fallen a little. I won't be able to lose enough weight in time. I'll look huge beside Eleanor and Danielle. Infront of the whole world.
When our food gets here, I eat even less than I had planned to, saying I'm not feeling well.
Everyone seems to buy it. Everyone except Niall that is. He holds my hand extra tight and sends me nervous looks the whole night. I smile at him, trying to comfort him, but I can tell he knows something's wrong.
This whole thing started so I could be good enough for him, now I'm worrying him. I need to convince him that I'm okay, and I need to do it fast.
