A lot of people say they have
nothing, but they're usually over exaggerating. I may
not have nothing, but I'm pretty close.
All I have is my guitar, the clothes on my back, and a few
random belongings stored in a crappy bag I found in the
dumpster.
And that's why I do this.
That's why I stand here with an open guitar case
sprinkled with coins, clutching my most prized possession
and singing my heart out.
To survive.
Today's no different, I stood with a crowd gathered
around my open case, hoping to make enough money to eat an
okay dinner.
"Thank you guys for coming to watch me" I smiled,
"I'm playing one last song, then taking a
break"
I took a deep breath and started strumming the opening
notes to my favorite song.
Today was gonna be the day that they're gonna throw
it back to you,
By now you should've somehow realized what you gotta
do,
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about
you now
I watched the crowd sway to the sound of my voice, and a
smile came to my lips. Music is my everything, my reason to
live.
Maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me,
After all, you're my wonderwall
I strummed the last notes, and the crowd cheered. It's
the biggest crowd I've had in a long, long time.
Possibly ever.
"Thank you guys for coming" I said loudly,
"I'm taking a break now"
They dropped money in my case as they walked by, and as
soon as they were all gone I counted it.
Yes! I made 17.56! I quickly pulled todays waterbottle out
of my case and gulped it down. I shoved the money in my
bra, but left a few coins so that the next audience would
understand that I accept money.
Suddenly, I realized there was a shadow looming over
me.
I spun around to see a boy who looked around my age,
standing there patiently. I thought for a second about how
cute he was, but then I shrugged it off. Not like I have
any time for boys in my life.
And what boy would date a homeless girl?
"I'm on break" I told the boy lightly.
"I know, but I forgot to give you my money" He
said smoothly, pulling a hundred dollars out of his wallet
and offering it to me. I pushed it away.
"No way" I shook my head, "I'm not worth
a hundred dollars, don't waste your money"
"Of course you are" He smiled, closing my hand
around the bill.
I gaped at him in awe.
"What's your name?" He asked, eyes
twinkling.
"Lily Adams" I said, biting my lip.
"I'm Niall Horan" He said, "Nice to meet
you, Lily"
Niall Horan?
I don't have a cellphone, a TV or a computer, but
you'd have to be dead not to know that name.
Niall Horan, one fifth of world famous pop band One
Direction.
Oh my God.

I've been sick for quite some time and I sort of still am, but my parents let me out of my room today. This is literally the first thing I did when I came downstairs! I. LOVE. IT!!! It's different from your other ones, and usually when people switch things up, I don't like it... but this is an exception. It's so cute, but also realistic!! Well done!! I think I'll be liking this story a lot!! Thanks for the amazing chapter, I'm about to read the other ones!! Love ya!!
