Chapter 23
A woman who Liam told me was my mother came by a few days later. I felt terrible because I could not remember the persno who raised me. Hopefully something would come to mind, but nothing did. After she left, I noticed signatures all over my arm cast. I must have had a lot of people come in while I was sleeping. I still wasn't allowed to leave the hospital because of the memory loss and the recent coma I was in. I had another visitor later that day, a guy with chesnut brown hair, bright blue eyes, and a dazzling smile. I looked at Liam, expecting him to tell me who this gorgeous guy was. Liam looked at him, a lump forming in the guys throat. He started to speak. "Aubrey, this is all my fault. I shouldn't have ended things. I shouldn't have let you get in the car, you were in no condition to drive." he said, and I still had no idea who he was. "Who are you?" I whispered, and he had tears in his eyes. He grabbed my hand and kneeled next to my bed. "This is Louis, a....friend of yours." Liam said, choosing his words carefully, making me wonder if this Louis character was actually more than a friend. "Give me a memory of us." I said, looking towards Louis. He told me about the time we baked cookies at my house, and had that food fight. It made me laugh, which brought a smile to his face. "Why did you say this is your fault?" I asked, curious. He started to explain that before the accident, he had ended things between us. I asked him if we were boyfriend and girlfriend, and he said no, that he was dating somebody else, but cheated on her. I still didn't remember. He told me that he felt terrible, and I told him it wasn't his fault, it was an accident. "You really don't remember me?" he whispered. "Sorry." I mumbled back. He got up to leave, but kissed my on the cheek before he did. He seemed sweet, kind, and caring. Maybe one day I would fall in love with this guy.
