Mascara.
Chapter 12.
I stared Josh in the eyes.
"I thought you were different,"  I whispered.
He looked at me with hurt eyes, but still stayed quiet.  I couldn't tell if he was crying, because we were both soaking wet from the rain that was still falling.
"I guess not." I said in a hurt voice as I turned away to walk home.
Then once again I felt Josh grab my hand.  He pulled me in and looked me in the eyes.
"Emma, what I just did was a huge mistake," he started.  "And I don't ever want to hurt you like that again." he whispered.  "I'm sorry.."
He then pulled me in for a kiss.  The whole world seemed to stand still.  I didn't know where or I was at, or what was happening, but it didn't matter, because it all felt so right.  Josh's hands were wrapped around my waste, and my arms were wrapped around his shoulders.  It was the most magical kiss I have ever had, and words couldn't describe it.  It was the kiss in the rain that every girl dreams about.  We didn't pull away until we both needed air.
He smiled at me, "wanna go back to my place?"
I smiled and nodded.  We walked back to Josh's house and he gave me some sweats of his to change into, because my clothes was wet from the rain.  His clothes were a little big, but they smelt just like him, amazing.  My makeup was smeared, and my hair was tangled, but Josh still told me I looked beautiful.  I didn't believe him, but I knew he meant it.  We went down to his basement and snuggled up together on the couch.  I layed my head down on his cheast and he ran his fingers through my hair.  He flipped on the TV and found a football game to watch.  I didn't really care much for football, but I didn't mind watching it when I had to.  After a while, I fell asleep.  I didn't try to, but I did.  The clock read 11:33pm when I woke up.  Well atleast it wasn't morning, I thought to myself.  I looked at Josh and he was still awake.
"I should probably go home Josh," I said a little hesitantly.
"You can stay if you want?" Josh said softly.
I wanted to, but I knew my mom would flip if she knew I spent the night at a guy's house alone.  But then again, my mom wouldn't be getting home until noon tomorrow anyways.  And it's not like Josh and I were going to do anything bad.
"I guess i'll stay." I said giving Josh a small smile.
He smiled back at me.
"I'm really tired though," I said letting out a yawn.
"Do you wanna go to bed?" he asked calmly.
"Sure," I replied.
Before I got the chance to stand up, Josh lifted me bridal style and carried me to his room.  I blushed a little and wrapped my arm around his neck.  He layed me in his bed and snuggled up next to me.  He then wrapped his arms around me and kissed me on the cheek.  I could feel his warm breath blowing against my cheek.
Just as I was about to go to sleep, I heard Josh's faint voice whisper.
"Emma," he started.  "Are you still awake?"
"Yeah," I said tiredly.
"Can I ask you something?" he said nervously.
"Anything." I said in a calm voice.
Then the words I've been waiting for since we met, came out of his mouth.
"Emma, will you be my girlfriend?"
