if painting your nails make you feel better, do it. if putting stickers on personal items makes you feel better, do it. if drawing shippy or kinky or silly or emotional things make you feel better, do it. if there is something that makes you feel better, even just a little bit, just fu'ckin do it dont be embarrassed about what self care means to you. self care is important, and so are you

If someone tells you to listen to a song, listen to it. It may be the worst song you have ever heard but they wanted to share it with you. That is really special. If it makes them feel a certain way and they are so adamant about you hearing it, take 5 minutes to hear it. It shows a lot about someone.

I didn’t learn how much it costs to raise a kid or what an affidavit is, but I spent days on what the quadratic equation is: negative b plus or minus the square root of b squared minus 4ac over 2a. That’s insane; that’s absolutely insane. They made me learn that over basic first aid or how to recognise the most deadly mental disorders or diseases with preventable causes or how to buy a house with a mortgage, if I could afford it, because abstract maths was deemed more important than advice that would literally save thousands of lives. But it’s cool, because now I could tell you if the number of unnecessary deaths caused by that choice was prime.

if you wonder why i still cry it's because i think of that time in late July when you called me at midnight because you were fighting with her and i had to whisper because my mom was in the next room and i didn't want her to hear me swear and you told me that you had no idea how long you'd be with her but whether it be a week or fifty years you and i would always be friends and it's been just over two years and look where we are now look where we fvcking are.
