**Sequel to Mascara.**
Chapter 17
We both finally pulled away in need for air.
Then, I slowly touched my lips, making sure that this was all real.
It was.
Panic soon set in.
What had I just done?
I had a boyfriend.
I promised myself I wouldn't do this again.
"What's wrong Emma?" Josh asked concerned, noticing the desperate look on my face.
"We need to forget this ever happened." I mumbled quickly.
"But Em-"
"No." I stopped him. "I can't..I can't do this again.." I said hurt.
I opened the bedroom door and made my way back out to the circle in the basement, trying to make it look like nothing had just happened.
I sat as close to Logan as I possibly could.
I had to stop giving into Josh.
He slowly walked out of the bedroom, sitting back down in his spot.
I avoided all eye contact with him.
"Next question." I murmured, making sure no one would make any comments about what had happened in the bedroom.
"It's you're turn to pick, Josh.." Alaina said quietly.
You could almost feel the awkwardness in the room.
"Logan." He said without hesitation.
Oh no, I thought to myself.
"Why were you giving Avery's friends money at the mall?"
What? I thought to myself.
What money? Why?
I stared at Logan with confusion.
"Uhh..Dare.." He said nervously, almost as if he was guilty of something.
"Okay." Josh started. "I dare you to tell me why you were giving them money." Josh said solemnly,
"Oooooooh!" Everyone said quietly, seeming as if they were entertained in where this conversation was going.
Well played Josh, I thought to myself.
"Dude, that's not fair!" Logan argued.
"There's no rule against it." I said boldly, crossing my arms.
Why was he avoiding the question?
Logan was surprised at my determination for him to answer the question.
"Well." I stammered. "We're all waiting." I snapped impatiently.
Logan sat quietly, trying to avoid the question.
"I payed them each 25$ to push Avery into Josh.." he mumbled quietly, under his breath.
Everyone let out a gasp.
"W-what?" I stuttered, just as surprised as everyone else.
"Well you weren't going to date me if you were still dating Josh." He explained, implying that I was his girlfriend.
I then couldn't decide what hurt more.
Knowing that Logan purposly sabotoged Josh and I's relationship, or the fact that Josh tryed to tell me what actually happened, and I refused to listen.
I pulled off the promise ring Logan had given me a few days before, and put it in his hand.
Tears started to slowly fall down my face.
"I have to go.." I whispered, hurt, making my way towards the basement door.
"Emma, wait!" Logan shouted.
I took off sprinting across the yard and down the street to my house.
But he quickly caught up to my and took a stiff grip on my wrists.
"Emma! I made a mistake! You can't do this!" He said sternly.
"Let me go!" I screamed, trying to release my wrists from his grip, but he only held on tighter.
"You lied to me! You're no different than anyone else!" I yelled louder, through sobs.
An angry look entered his face.
Then suddenly, it hit me.
He hit me.
Logan extended his hand, and slapped me across the face.
I screamed in pain.
He let go of his grip on my wrists, and I quickly felt the area on my face where he had just hit me.
I could feel blood oozing out of the cut he had made with his sharp fingers.
"Emma, I'm sorry..I didn't mean to!" Logan pleaded in panic.
I tried to stay strong and hold back the tears from how bad it hurt, but I couldn't.
I took off running.
Faster than I ever had.
I just wanted to run away from reality,
and never come back.
