    Warning;
Before you make that first cut, remember--
You will find the blood and pain release addictive.
Even though you think you can make a few tiny cuts that aren't deep and will heal easily--
    They will get deeper.
    They will scar.
They will take sometimes months to heal.
And years for the scars to fade.
If you think you can limit the cutting to one area of your body think again.
It will spread when you run out of skin.
Be prepared to withdraw from others and live in a constant state of shame.
Even if you are the most honest person ever to live--
You will find yourself lying to the people you love.
You will jerk back from your friends when they touch you as if their hands were dipped in poison.
You will be terrified that they will feel something under the cloth of your shirt or because it just plain hurts so much to be touched.
Be prepared to get so out of control you fear your next cut because you don't know how bad it will be.
Just wait for 10 cuts to turn into 100.
Be prepared for your entire life to revolve around thinking about cutting--
    Cutting and covering up cutting.
And just wait till that first time you cut "too deep."
And you freak out because the blood won't stop...
    And you are gasping...
And you feel yourself shaking all over.
You are having a panic attack and you are terrified but you can`t tell anyone.
    So you sit there alone...
    Praying it will be okay--
Swearing you'll never let it go this far again...
    But you will, and further....
Don't worry, you will learn how to take care of your cuts so that you can go deeper and deeper and avoid the ER.
And the better you get at treating your cuts,
    The deeper they get.
You will lie to yourself and justify it when you find youself spending 20, 30, or 50 dollars every time you go the pharmacy.
You will feel the flutter of your heartbeat everytime you go to the counter to ring up your order.
    Butterfly strips--
3 or 4 different kinds of dressings...
    Betadine...
    Antibiotic cream...
    Medical tape...
    Scar reducers...
You will tap your foot impatiently hoping the line will just move and noone will stare at you or wonder why you need all these things.
And at the same time secretly hope someone will notice--
Someone who is standing in line with an armful of the same supplies.
    Someone who understands--
But of course that never happens.
Medical supplies won't be the only thing you spend all your money on.
Be prepared to buy a new wardrobe--
Longsleeve shirts in summer colors, bracelets, wristbands, boots...
The list goes on and on.
You will start looking at everyone in a different way.
Scanning their bodies for any signs of SI.
Just hoping that you might meet someone like you so you don't feel so terribly alone.
You wont even think about it,
As your eyes scan their wrists arms.
Hoping, just hoping they will be like you.
    But they are not.
You will see their clean arms and feel terribly ashamed and alone.
You will start doing a lot of things alone.
You will always have to wash your laundry in private so no one sees the blood stains on your clothes and towels.
You will always be cleaning up the blood.
    Scrubbing your bathroom floor.
Wiping the blood off your keyboard.
You won't be able to make it through a day without cutting.
Next thing you know you are in a public bathroom somewhere breaking open a scab with a sewing needle that you keep in your wallet for emergencies.
    When you get really desperate,
Anything will be a cutting tool...
    Scissors...a car key...a needle...a paperclip...even a pen.
Doesn't matter what it is if you need to cut bad enough you will find something.
Say goodbye to things you took for granted.
Like wearing shorts or sandals...pedicures...sleeveless tops.
A normal summer day at the beach or in a swimming pool will become a far off memory for you.
    Get ready to itch.
Because you will itch and itch.
So much you will look like you have fleas or a skin disease.
You will become an expert on your body as you destroy it carefully.
    You will dream about cutting.
You will dream about being exposed.
It will haunt you day and night and take over your life.
You will wish you never made that first cut because while you absolutely hate cutting--
At the same time you love it and can not live without
think about this before you make that first/next cut

So I was sitting reading this absolutely amazing book, and one of my favourite characters died out of nowhere.
I had gotten suuuuper attached to her, so I started crying a bit.
(Okay, maybe a lot. It was sad.)
Then, my little sister walked in, saw me bawling my eyes out and said,
    "omg not fictional characters again."
i cried more and made sad noises.
she sighed and said, "okay, i'll get you some cake."

    she paints a pretty picture
but her picture has a twist
you see her paintbrush is a razor
and the canvas is her wrist
    she paints her pretty picture
in the color thats blood red
while using her sharp paint brush
    she ends up finally dead
    Her pretty pictures fading
    quite slowly on her arm
the blood is not racing through her
she can no loger do harm
    She painted a pretty picture
but her picture had a twist
you see her mind was her razor
and her heart was just her wrist

    A sad day for America
    As rejoicing rang from hell,
    Awakening a mighty giant
On the day the towers fell.
    Our hearts were saddened
As we watched this vicious act unfold,
As innocence met a fiery death
And seeds of war were sowed.
Shouts rang out from the middle east
That Allah has done his good
But no god joys in faultless deaths
    Through certain cowards could.
America just sort of glides along,
But don't step on her toes ...
For her belief in right and justice
    Will stomp out freedom's foes.

    Don't forget

When I was about 5 I went to the park with my gran every day. She took me to get ice cream and we would sit on a bench watching as the world carried on around us. One day we had a conversation I didnt understand at the time..
Me: gran what are those scars?
Gran: These ones are battle scars sweetheart.
Me: When was you in a battle? Who with? Did you win?
    Gran: I was battling myself.
me: Whats that supposed to mean?
Gran: You wont understand this untill you're older. But when I was a teenager, I had a very hard battle with myself. And after some time and help, I won. I realised, I can't fight this war by myself, the opponent is much too strong. So you know what I did? I got help. And then after a while, I was finally bigger than it. I finally won.
me: Gran why cant I understand it?
Gran: Because you're much too young. Ask me again in 10 years time and you'll get it.
And now I understand. My gran had depression. She self harmed and suffered through unbearable things. She was strong though. She tried to take her life once but was saved. And after that, as she said herself, she realised something. She realised that she couldnt do it alone. She knew that she needed help. And that she could get through it.
With time and help, she saw the light at the end of the tunnel.
with time and help, she finally won.
If you're reading this and going through depression, I want you to know that you can get through this too.
Do what my Gran did. Get some soldiers to help fight your battle! With help, you can win this war.
You can do it, I'm here for you.
This isn't me or my nan. But I thought it was SO inspirational that I had to share it with you guys. It's true. Dont think of it as you being 'weak' you are NOT weak. Think of depression as a war. You can't win a war on your own, but you can with a little time and some help (soldiers). Dont suffer in silence! And Im here for you! please, talk to me if you're feeling down, I'll do my best to cheer you up♥

"ALL GUYS ARE THE SAME" my friend complained.
I sat her down and told her the following story...
Earlier this year I was in one of my classes and this one girl (lets call her Sara) asked to use the restroom but the teacher (shall we call him Mr. Insensitive?) told her no. The girl politely asked once more but he said no again. A few minutes later she said it was an emergency and he still turned her down. You could tell she was obviously annoyed but about 3 minutes later asks again and tells him its a serious emergency and she needs to go, but he still says no. Sara stands up and everyone turns to look at her and her face goes red from embarassment as she says to the teacher in front of everyone,
"I just started my period and I literally need to use the restroom"
At this point, everyone is staring. Mr. Insensitive STILL refuses to let her go and tells her to sit down. Everyone in class was confused and OUT OF NO WHERE a boy who was sitting near her who she didnt know very well personally, a varsity football player, stands up and says,
"Dont you have a wife? Didn't you grow up with your mom or sisters? She started her period and she needs to use the bathroom and she is going to whether you like it or not."
He then walked over, pulled Sara with him and proceeded to walk her to the bathroom. When they came back, MR. INSENSITIVE called security on them and the guy got suspended for standing up for a girl. That girl was me.
I will never forget that day. A football player was man enough to stand up for a girl against a teacher and defend her on a girl problem she was having. Not many high school guys are mature enough to even say the word "period" much less do what he did.
So no, all guys arent the same. You just dont bother looking for the good ones.
