Kiss You: Chapter Six
Sapphire’s P.O.V
Niall was sitting on the ground and I was sitting on the couch behind him; I started playing with his hair. I swiftly slid off the couch so I was sitting next to him on the floor.
“Niall, do you think you could teach me to play the guitar?” I asked.
His eyes lit up and he faced me. “Really?”
“Yeah, sure,” I replied continuing to ruffle with his hair.
He sprung up off the floor and I followed him to our room where he got two of his guitars out. He handed me one of them and we sat down on the bed.
He took my hand and pointed out which was my first, second, third and fourth finger. He told me the notes of the strings and then what the frets were.
“Alright, so this is a G chord,” he said playing it. I loved how he just knew all this. He was so passionate about it too. He took my fingers and put them in the right spot for the chord. I smiled at him and he smiled back. He nodded, “Go.”
I strummed and it actually sounded good. “You’re a good teacher. Thank you,” I said. He turned his head and tapped his cheek. I rolled my eyes and leaned over to kiss him. “Okay, so what’s next?” I asked and he continued telling me where my fingers were meant to go to create chords.
Until dinner, we played the guitar. Over dinner, we decided that we’d stay in again tomorrow and he’d keep teaching me
*the next day*
Niall and I had been sitting down, him teaching me how to play the guitar, for a good hour before there was a knock on the door.
“I’ll get it,” I told him gently taking the guitar off over my head and setting it down on the bed where I was sitting. He lifted his over his head too and walked a short distance behind me to the door. I opened it a crack to see who it was.
“Tyler?” I blurted out of shock opening the door. What was he doing here?
“Sapphire!” he said happily.
I frowned and looked at Niall for support and advice from a distance. He frowned in anger and clenched his fists. I held up a hand; on second thought, maybe he should stay out of this.
“Sapph, I want you to take me back,” he said standing in the doorway.
“Uh, Tyler, I have a boyfriend,” I said trying to stay calm.
“Oh right, that boy band kid, right?” he scoffed.
I looked over to Niall who was getting angry but I shook my head at him and subtly told him to stay out of it. “Tyler, I’d appreciate if you left right now and never came back.”
A look of shock spread across his face. “Please, Sapph, take me back,” he pleaded.
“Don't call me that and the answer is no,” I said.
He scoffed. “I’ll call you whatever I want to call you. Sapph, you’re stupid and you’ll regret this.”
“I really don’t think I will. Please get out,” I said lightly pushing him back so I could close the door.
I could tell he was angry now more than anything. “You’re so stupid,” he muttered before backing out and walking off. I closed the door and held my head in my hands. I looked up to see a disgusted Niall.
“What?” I asked.
“Why do you let him talk to you like that?” he asked concerned, putting his arms around my waist.
“It’s not easy, Niall, to stand up to him. He’s so much stronger than me, it’s easier if I just stay calm and don’t make him any angrier than he already is.”
“Then let me do it for you,” he said with conviction.
“No, Niall. Please, I don’t want you getting hurt. It doesn’t matter. He’s not part of my life anymore, okay? I’m with the right man,” I told him. I kissed him but he was obviously distracted and distant. “Niall,” I looked him in the eye, “Don’t worry. I love you and that’s all that matters.”
A smile broke out on his face. “I love you too,” he said kissing me passionately.
