Oh The Cherry Tree- Chapter six.

Kaii had to be insane. It was the only rational explanation. This guy was telling me he was a supernatural creature. A shapeshifter. That had to be insane.
''Kaii, when did you get into town? Where do you come from? Are you sure you shouldn't be in a hospital-''                                                                                                  ''I'm not insane Madison. I can prove it,'' Kaii gently brushed his hand accross my cheek and turned away from me. He walked accross a road and into the shade of some trees. I lost sight of him, and that worried me. If he really was mentally ill, and I was beginning to think he was, then he could be doing anything in there. He could be plotting to kill me, and no one even knew I was out here with him. I  could hear the rustling of leaves, followed closely by the snapping of twigs, and then a sudden growl. It was gutteral, unlike anything I'd ever heard before. It didn't sound a bit like Kaii, it sounded like a vicious animal.                                                                                                                                                                                              I took a step back and almost toppled over at the sight before me. Out of the trees came an absolutely terrifying, gigantic ...dog? wolf? bear? It looked like a combination of all three. And it scared me to death. The sound I'd heard earlier was no longer mysterious, it was obvious that it had come from this animal. It started towards me, and I scrambled back even more. It put its head down, as if surrendering, and slowly crawled the rest of the way accross the road. It whined as it crawled over to me, almost twice my size, and put its head on my lap. Like some sort of pet dog. I was shaking, this creature was scaring me more and more by the second. But I shifted over to make it more comfortable on my lap, and gently, slowly, put my hand on its head. I looked down at it, and it looked back up at me. I expected it to look scary, or vicious, but all I saw was surrender. And those eyes, I don't think I'll ever forget the feeling of understanding I felt when I saw those eyes. A soft, chocolate brown. Kaii's eyes. Kaii's gentle, sweeping chocolate eyes. And he whimpered again, and now I understood. I brought my forehead to his, and I looked straight into those eyes and whispered;                                                                                               ''You proved it,''
