i went to a retreat a long time ago and there, I heard God call me to be a sister and today at our Junior retreat he called me again and this time even moreso... I asked God during communion what is it that you want me to do with my life? And he responded.. i want you to go into the religious life/sisterhood later on in life... i could not help but cry.... it was amazing... my friend was also called to the religious life this past weekend.. it is amazing what can happen when you listen to God's Call and actually open your heart to him

whether it would be a relationship or just life
There may be dark points in our life but there is a light at the end of the

Like, you don't get anymore religious than the pope
(besides like a cult leader or some s.hit.)
I mean, if the head of the catholic church can be
okay with it, and realize it's not his place to judge,
then you should be able to, too.

religion as a way to justify homophobia, that'd be great.

Being an atheist is ok.
Being an atheist and shaming religion and spirituality as silly or not real is not ok.
Being a Christian is ok.
Being a homophobic, misogynistic, rllacist, or otherwise hateful person in the name of Christianity is not ok.
Being a reindeer is ok.
Bullying and excluding another reindeer because he has a shiny red nose is not ok.

Just think of how stupid this entire LGBT debacle will look like in say 50 years.
People in 50 years will look at it the same way we look at the fight for evolution (aka Scopes Trial),
and the fight for women's rights. Both of those things we consider totally normal today, so why can't we take the issue of the right for homosexuals to marry in stride and not makes fools of ourselves? This is a perfect example of history repeating itself and humanity not learning from mistakes of the past. Personally, as a Catholic, I support gay rights. I believe strongly in the Golden Rule and I apply it to LGBT rights as well. I understand that God says it is a sin to be a homosexual. But "catholic" also means "UNIVERSAL'. So how can the Roman Catholic Church be universal if we don't acknowledge the rights of ALL people? I'm not suggesting that the church has to accept them, but they don't have to ice them out either. God wants us to spread his world to ALL the ends of the earth. I'm pretty sure that people who are gay come before the ends of the earth.
