You'll Never Be Alone
Prologue
Lindsay's POV
I stared blankly towards the front of the class, trying desperately to fake interest in what Mr. Donatelli was writing on the board.
'Who needs algebra, anyways?' I thought to myself as I scrawled down the graphs and equations in my notebook.
I was nearly bored to death when the door opened, and in walked the most attractive girl I have ever layed eyes on. Her long, black hair hung down to the small of her back, and she wore just the right amount of makeup. None.
She was absolutely stunning.
She walked to Mr. Donatelli's desk and placed a small pink sheet of paper, and identified herself as a transfer student from the next town over. She said her name is Delaney Elyse, and that her father had had to switch jobs, which lead to them moving to our town and her to our school.
Mr. Donatelli asked her to take the last available seat, which was right next to me.
She moved so gracefully, she nearly floated over to the table.
"Hi, m...my name is L...Lindsay." I stuttered, caught off guard by the enticing scent of vanilla the drifted off her ivory skin. I peered up though my bangs and caught a glimpse of her eyes.
Sea blue with small flecks of gold, and a small green ring around her pupil. They made my dark grey eyes seem like slabs of stone next to a gorgeous pond.
I nervously twirled a piece of my long, bleached blonde and blue dip-dyed hair around my finger, chewing on my bottom lip at the same time.
She giggled softly and said "Delaney. I'm sorry, I didn' mean to make you nervous, Lindsay."
"I'm not nervous, you're just really gorgeous." I said under my breath, soft enough so she couldn't hear me.
I barely knew this girl at all. Some people don't take kindly to getting flirted with by the weird, bisexual girl on their first day.
The rest of the class was spent in painful silence.
On the way out, Delaney stopped me, grabbed my arm, and wrote 10 digits down on my palm.
When she did this, the sleeve to my hoodie slid up, revealing cuts and scars.
Some new, some old.
She glanced down, looked me in the eyes, and wrapped her arms around me and whispered
"You're not alone"
