I almost don't even want to say this because of how cliche it is, and because it's an insensitive thing to say to someone who's hurting, but I have to, so forgive me -- HE IS NOT WORTH IT. He's bypassing the opportunity to experience a beautiful girl with a great sense of humor, for whatever (probably insufficient) reason, and that just shows that he's a coward with poor taste. You deserve someone who likes you just as much as you like them, and it shouldn't take any convincing or waiting around on your part. Screw him.

It may be cliche, but it was very helpful, and something I really needed to hear :)
his reasoning being he just doesn't see it ever turning into marriage and he doesn't want to date for nothing, and a reason he sees nothing going on with us is because I don't have a college degree. So, it really is a insufficient reason now that I think about it.

What do you know, I was right. This guy sounds like a total tool and his reasoning is completely invalid. You're both young, so marriage shouldn't be much of a priority right now. The entire point of dating, especially at this point in life, is to find out what you do and don't like, to gain experience and insight, and to have fun. Not every relationship has to be serious or turn into marriage, and if it doesn't that does not mean it was a waste of time. No one ever dates 'for nothing'. And not having a college degree doesn't equate to not having intelligence or ambition or any other wonderful personal quality. You may lack a degree, but you definitely make up for it with your abundantly cute and appealing personality. If he's too stupid to see this, if this is the narrow-minded way he views potential partners, and if he looks down on you for simply NOT HAVING A COLLEGE DEGREE, then he's going to need far more than a college degree himself to make it through life.
I'm proud of you for realizing that you neither need nor deserve this. Keep your head up, Hanna. You're amazing.

Whenever you want to talk to me, be it about this or anything at all, you always can. I don't want you to feel like you're alone or not cared about. I like you tremendously and the fact that someone doesn't, for such trivial reasons too, astounds me.
