I'm Your Mate
Chapter 15

"You know Avery, Jace is going to be so angry with you." Derek said to me.
"Not if he doesn't find out." I replied.
"You running on a treadmill when you just got re-stitched 2 days ago!"
"I don't care. I'm going crazy just sitting around. I know we went to the fair yesterday, but I haven't left the house otherwise."
I got off the treadmill and pulled off the tank top I was wearing so I was only in a sports bra and some yoga shorts.
"You should do me a favor." I smirked.
"Depends on what the favor is, bunny" He replied with the same smirk I was sending him.
"You should bring me somewhere. I'm sick of sitting around in the house. I'm healed enough to have my stitches out. Please, I'm going insane here."
"You know Jace will freak, especially because you're with me." He stated.
"He knows you tried to kiss me. As long as you don't try anything like that again it's fine." I said.
Jace is absolutly going to kill me when he finds out that I'm going somewhere with Derek. Especially since he tried to kiss me the other day, but I'm going crazy just sitting around the house. Jace won't let me go anywhere, not even outside the house!
"Avery Grace. What are you doing?" Jace growled.
Uh oh. I turned with a small smile on my face. He was standing in the doorway to the gym with his arms crossed. He was p.issed.
"Um, you know.." I mumbled. "Derek was exercising and I decided to keep him company. I was going crazy upstairs."
"Why are you in a sports bra then?" He said taking a couple large steps towards me. 
"I'm going crazy upstiars! I haven't had time to go for my ususal runs, plus I'm not allowed out of the house. So I was just jogging on the treadmill. Nothing wrong with that." I shrugged.
"Everything's wrong with that." He growled. "What did I hear about you asking Derek to take you somewhere? That's not smart Avery. In fact that's pretty stupid."
I rolled my eyes and walked towards the door. There were a lot of people in gym so I didn't want to cause a scene.
"See my wound is healed. I don't need these stitches in anymore. Let's go to the doctor so he can take them out. I said walking passed him out of the gym.
I made it to the doctors a few seconds faster that Jace.
"Hi Avery. How are you doing?" He asked nicely.
"Good. My wounds healed I don't think I need these stitches in anymore." 
"Lie down on the bed right there and let me take a look." He said then began washing his hands.
I layed down on the bed and Jace sat down quietly beside me. He walked over and began examing it.
"That's weird." He mumbled. Great. A doctor saying that is never good.
"What's wrong?" Jace said jumping up.
"She's healed."
"Isn't that a good thing?" I replied.
"Well yes, but you shouldn't have healed that fast. It's not humanly possible."
"What?" Jace and I said at the same time.
"What does that mean?" I asked shaking my head.
"Let me take out your stitches and then we'll talk." He said. He began opening and closing cabinets getting the things he needs.
My head began to spin. What does he mean I'm not 100% human? That makes no sense. I felt a tugging and pulling on my wound, but I ignored it because my mind was going crazy. After he finished he pulled up a seat next to us.
"I've only heard of it a couple times. I don't know anyone who's experienced it themselves, though. They are born human, like werewolves, but they don't turn into werewolves until they find their mate. They have the ability to heal faster than humans, but not nearly as fast as werewolves. Once they are mated to their mate they can turn into wolves. It's harder for them to keep a hold of their human side for the first couple of months after they are mated." He finished.
"So once I mate with Jace I'll become a werewolf, too?" I asked sitting up.
"Yes." He answered.
"But I wasn't born a werewolf. How is that possible?" I asked.
"You're family might desend from them, but the bloodline got lost. I'm honestly not to sure." 
"I think I'm going to faint." I breathed out. I felt Jace put his hands on either side of my face.
"Come on. I'll bring you to bed. You're probably tired." He said then picked me up bridal style.
I let out a shriek. "Jace!" I giggled.
He carried me down the stairs and to our room.
"My hero." I said putting my hand to my chest once he put me down on the bed.
"Sarcastic isn't a good look on you." He teased.
"And being a werewolf is?" I said seriously.
"No matter what you'll always be my mate and I'll care for you." He replied kissing me on the forehead. I snuggled under the covers being engulfed in his sent.
He turned to walk out of the room. "Please don't leave. Stay with me." I begged.
"Anything you want. I didn't know if you wanted to be alone." He said before pulling his pants and shirt off.
"I don't want to be alone, ever" I mumbled, the exhaustion taking over.

I felt him crawl into bed beside me so I snuggled up next to him and fell asleep.
