“My mom is my best friend, I don't know what I'd do without her!”

Hearing that always makes me sad, because my mom and I don't have that kind of relationship. Our personalities are just too different for us to be really close, you know? We still talk, and we go shopping together pretty often, but we tend to miscommunicate and fight a lot. We don't have the same sense of humor, and I don't like to discuss my feelings with her. I love my mom and I don't know what I'd do without her, that is true, but she's definitely not my best friend.

I have the exact same relationship with my mom too. Like there are certain times when we go shopping or something and I feel closer to her but we just fight so much and I wouldn't call her my best friend :/ glad to know its not just me though

I understand don't worry its sometimes best to not be clingy or too close but just a mum and someone you can talk and go shopping!
