Summer
Chapter
2
"Hi Harry." I said, jumping down from our
embrace.
He finally allowed himself to look me in the eye for the first
time in nearly ten months.
"Hello Sophia." he replied, giving me a small smile. I
could tell things were still tense between us, but at least he
was talking to me. That's a good sign.
"Oh, um, these are my friends Liam, Niall, Louis and
Zayn." he said.
"Hi, I'm Sophia." I said, introducing myself to the
guys, who were the other four members of One Direction. They said
hello before walking in the house.
"It's been a while." I said, wondering how he would
reply to that.
"Yeah, it has. How have you been?" he asked, and I knew
he actually cared.
"I've been okay. I'm just glad to be back at the
summer house." I told him.
"Well, it was good seeing you again." he said, and he
turned to walk away.
"Harry wait." I called out, and he turned back towards
me.
"Can we catch up soon? Let's hang out tomorrow." I
said, waiting for a response.
"Sure, we could go to The Grille." he responded,
mentioning my favorite restaurant.
"That sounds great. Just text me when you wanna leave."
I said.
He walked into his house after that and I walked back to mine.
That went well.
"How was your walk?" Ella asked as she was setting the
table.
"I saw Harry." I told her, and she suddenly looked
interested.
"What did he say to you?" she asked, desperate for the
details.
I wasn't one to keep my feelings to myself. Ella and I are
really close, so of course I told her what happened last summer.
We tell each other almost everything.
"I asked if we could catch up, and he said we should go to
The Grille."
"Like a date? You can't lead the guy on Soph." she
said.
"No, not like a date. Like two friends having lunch and
catching up." I replied.
The rest of my night was pretty boring. I watched a movie with
Ella and Tyler then went to my room and looked through old photo
albums from previous summers. Almost every single one of them
included a picture of Harry and me.
I woke up the next morning to a text message from Harry saying we
should meet at noon. I glanced at my clock and saw that it was
11:45.
I've never been one to run on time, so hopefully he
remembered that. I ran a brugh through my already straight brown
hair and walked over to my suitcase, because I still wasn't
unpacked. I pulled out a blue tank top that had a bow on it and a
pair of white shorts with gold studs. I put on a pair of gold
sandals, grabbed my phone, and walked towards the front door. I
told Tyler to let Ella know I was with Harry, then walked out and
made my way to The Grille to meet him.
It was time for me to find out if Harry was still the same person
he had always been.
Deep down though, I knew he had changed. Because of me.
I walked in and saw him sitting at the table we usually sat at. I
walked over and took a seat across from him. He was reading the
menu, but I already knew what he wanted. We got the same thing
every time that we came here. It was tradition.
"What's up? You're pretty quiet today." I said,
taking the menu from him.
"I don't know what to say to the girl who I kissed last
summer and haven't talked to since because she left.
Sorry." he said, kind of rudely.
"Harry, I want to talk to you about that." I said, and
was about to go into my explanation for why I left, but I was
interrupted by a tall blonde walking over towards us. Do I know
her? She doesn't look familiar.
But she definitely knew Harry.
