I Love to
Hate You
Chapter
4
I woke up late the next
morning with a slight headache, last night's events replaying
in my head. I can't believe I finally worked up the courage
to sing that song to Liam. I've always wanted to catch
someone off guard, and I'm pretty sure I did that last
night.
I got up and showered, then blow
dried my hair and ran the straightener through it, the tips
falling to my mid back. I did the small pouf on my head and bobby
pinned it into place. I walked over to my closet and tried to
choose an outfit. I decided I would wear a floral dress with a
brown belt and matching heels. I put in a pair of pink flower
earrings and wore my matching bangles. I had a meeting with some
businessmen today to discuss my karaoke club and some ways to
make it even more popular. I drove my car to the place we were
having lunch and walked in, spotting the two men in suits
instantly. They waved me over and I smiled, shaking their hands.
I think they were suprised that I was so young, but I was used to
that by now.
We talked for about an hour about how business has been, my plans
for the future, and tips on how to make business
better.
"We think that if you have some kind of band sing a song or
two every night, more people will be attracted to the club, you
know?" one of them asked.
"Yeah, I completely agree. I've actually been thinking
of a few different groups." I told them.
"Think no more. Because we invited a group to join us for
lunch, if you don't mind." said the other guy.
"Oh, that's great! When will they be here?" I
asked, and he said they were walking in right now. I turned my
head to get a better view of the door, and was shocked when I saw
who was standing there. I kept quiet, because I didn't want
to make a scene. But I didn't want to work with these boys
either. Particularly one certain boy.
They walked over to the table and sat down, clearly suprised as
well as to what was happening. They talked with the business men
before making an agreement with me.
"So would you like this band to promote your karaoke
club?" one of the men asked.
"I have to think about it." I said.
"They would be good publicity." he told me.
"I'm aware. I just have a few things I need to sort out
first. We just opened, and things are kind of crazy right now.
But thank you for meeting with me today. It was a pleasure to
meet you." I said, shaking their hands and rising from the
table. I walked out of the restaurant, but didn't get far
until someone stopped me. Liam.
"Carly, wait."
"Liam, I really don't want to talk to you right now. I
have to go." i said, pulling away. He continued walking
after me though, and eventually I gave in and sat on a bench near
the restaurant. Liam sat next to me, and we were silent for a few
minutes.
"I'm sorry." he whispered.
"Sometimes sorry isn't enough." I replied
quietly.
"I should have known you wuld get upset if we came. I knew
this wasn't a good idea." he said.
"You're right. It wasn't." I said, getting up
and walking to my car. I wasn't ready to forgive Liam yet,
and I don't know if I ever will be.
I went back to my flat and called Madison, but she didn't
answer. So without even thinking, I called James. I invited him
to the club tonight, and he said he would love to come.
James, my fake boyfriend, and Liam, the person I hate, in the
same club?
This would be interesting.
