That night, after church, I threw out each and ever box of cigarettes I owned. I wanted to change who I was and this was a good start. "Santana," my father called from outside the door. "Come in, Papi." I informed him. He opened up my bedroom door, "Your mother wants you to stay over at her house tonight." I put back my long dark hair in a low pony tail. "Okay, I'll head over there now. Goodnight Papi." I got up, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Goodnight mi princesa." my father said warmly.

I arrived at my mother's house shortly after I had packed a few things. I set my stuff down in the foyer. "Ma, I'm here!" I shouted. She came running into the foyer to weclome me. "Santana, I'm glad you came. I just wanted to talk to you since I felt like we haven't really talked about your new school. Plus, I thought it would be easier to drive to school from here tomorrow since it's closer." I flinched at the thought of going to that school tomorrow. I was still a little mad with my mother and father for sending me there. Sure, it was getting better as people got used to me going there, but it still wasn't exactly heaven on earth.

She led me in the kitchen table and gave me a mug of coffee. "Thanks." I said quietly. We sat there silently, sipping our coffee when my mother finally initiated the conversation, "How's school?" I responded with, "Well, not as bad as I thought. The first few days were rough but after kids just accepted a girl from the heights was going to their school I kind of became old news. But, I miss my friends a lot." She nodded sympatatically. I didn't dare tell her about Nick, Lia and all of them. She would probably make me explain the whole feud if I brought it up and end up calling the police and making this whole rivarly bigger than it already was. "It will get better, trust me." she reassured me. "But, Mom," I started saying, "Some people in the heights, like the neighbors and stuff think I'm some sort of trader. Like, my friends know I'm not and a few other people in the heights are just blaming it on you. But, there's still a few people who think I'm a trader." I told her. She patted my back, "I went through a similar thing, people will think what they want. You can't change that, Santana. But, what you can do is just prove to them your not a trader and make sure you show them your the same girl you were a week ago." I smiled at my mother, for once she actually gave me good advice. "Thanks Mom." She smiled back, "Make sure all your homework is done for tomorrow." I rolled my eyes, "Okay, Mom. Goodnight, love you." "Love you too sweetie."

School the next day was uneventful. It seemed as if I was old news now. For the most part I was ignored with a few dirty looks here and there. That, I could deal with. Will smiled at me in Spanish class, that made my whole day. Not cause I liked him, god no, just because after a full day of people glaring at you it was nice to see a friendly smile.

I stayed after school that day for some history review. After it was over, I walked the desolate hallways. "Santana, right?" an unfamilar voice called. I lifted my eyes from my phone and saw one of the jocks talking to me. He wasn't part of Nick's group, thank god. "I'm looking for some free entertainment." I stared up at him, looking more confused than ever. "Look, I'll pay you double what they pay you in the heights." Then it finally clicked, I knew exactly what he was getting at. Just another judgemental suburbian, thinking all of us from the heights are the same. "I'm not a hooker." I spat. He didn't, he grabbed my wrist forcefully and started to kiss me. "Ha, of course you are. You live in the heights." I tried pushing him off me but he was too storng. "Not everyone in the heights in a prostitute." I informed him. "Sure." he said in disbelief. I was so scared I started to cry. "Not so tough now, are you?" he snickered.

Before he could do anything further a fist snuck up and punched him in the face; it was Will. "What the hell?" he yelled. "Leave her alone." The jock knew it wasn't worth the fight and just left. "Thank you." I said quietly. I slumped down and started to cry against the locker. "I'm sorry Santana." I dried away some tears, "It's not your fault. It's fine. Thank you, though" I stopped crying in a matter of seconds, "You know, you're all right Will."
