Your Secret Is Safe With Me
Chapter 34
Gia's POV:
After Sam called me all upset I dropped everything and drove over to her house. Her dad let me in and I ran straight up to her room to find Carson already there. Sam was on her bed crying her eyes out. Carson and I both tried to make her feel better but nothing seemed to have worked so finally I said, "Sam your problem is you care too much about what people think. Who cares what his parents think? As long as he likes you, that's all that matters." She stopped crying and wiped her tears from her eyes, "Maybe you're right Gia. What his parents' think about me shouldn't affect how he thinks of me." "Exactly," I continued, "I mean he liked you when he knew about you living here." Sam thanked me and I decided my work was done for the day. While I was about to walk out the door Carson stopped me. "Gia, we haven't talked about the whole cutting thing yet. You told us to give you some time and we did. I think this is a good time to talk about it, how about you?" I paused and then turned around to go back into Sam's room. I shut the door behind them and told them. I told them about the pressure to be perfect. The pressure my parent's put me under and the pressure I put myself under. I could tell they didn't completely understand but at least they were listening. "But after I've met Drew, I haven't cut anymore. So it's fine now." I finished. "Gia, I'm sorry about everything you're feeling. And if you ever need our help just ask. But you're perfect in our eyes." Carson said. "Thanks, it means a lot for you two just to listen." "But," Sam started, "Promise us you'll never cut ever again. It's dangerous. Please promise us." Silence filled the room, "Okay, I promise." That wasn't a lie, I didn't need to cut anymore and even if I felt that way again I could find another safer solution. "I've got to go." I got up and walked towards the door. "Drew?" Carson asked. "Maybe." I slipped out the door.
After I left Sam's house I drove to Drew's garage. His band was practicing and I wanted to check them out. He wasn't like serious about his band or anything it was just something he did for fun. I parked my car and walked into his garage. I wasn't the only one watching; quite a few other girls were there too. They were probably dating the other band members or something. Drew saw me walked in while after he finished his drum solo. And smiled at me; of course I smiled back. I listened to the rest of their songs, they were actually pretty good. "Hey, you're Gia from St. Mary's right?" a skinny blonde haired girl asked. "Yeah, we're in the same science class I think." I responded to her. "Yep. So which guy are you here for?" she asked. "Um, Drew the drummer. We're dating." "Oh cool, Drew and I used to date. You too make a cute couple." Okay I know the fact that my boyfriend's ex-girlfriend was there should have bothered me but it didn't. I trusted Drew and he trusted me. I wasn't going to let that phase me.
They finished their last song and Drew walked up to me, "So, what'd you think?" "Honestly?" I asked while raising my eye brow. "Yes." "Well you're all very talented. And your songs are actually pretty good compared to most garage bands. Like they don't all sound the same and lyrics are actually meaningful. And you have a good image. You guys have the whole boy next door thing going on and not that emo kids crap. That stuff is so over-rated. So honestly, I think you guys are amazing. But the band name has got to go." He tried to remember every I just told him, "Well you sure paid attention. But what's wrong with the band name?" "Ketchup Kisses? Really?" I started to laugh. "Okay, maybe it is kind of lame. Like you can think of anything better." "I can and I will. I've got to go now but I'll let you know my much better band name later." Before I got into my car he grabbed my hand, spun me around and kissed me. I smiled and said, "See you later."
