Love of my life.12.
~Ethan grabbed my hand as my mom stared at us for a couple minutes. What was she going to say?
*Mariah, I am so sorry I left you.
-I bet you are! You walked out on me and dad for like a month now! How could you! (I was gone. I lost my temper and I started yelling.) Dad was lost for like two weeks! We had struggled for two weeks before getting used to you not be around! You LEFT us, mom. Left.(I started crying and Ethan pulled me tightly into his chest and rubbed my back, assuring I was okay. I pulled away and Ethan wiped the tears from my eyes as I looked back over at my mom.)
*I made a mistake by leaving, I know. I promise you I had no intention to hurt you or your father, Mariah. I needed out. I still do. I can’t be here any more.
-You came all the way, back home. Just to see me cry? Did you think I would enjoy seeing you here, and ready to walk out again?
*Mariah, I am not walking out! I am divorcing you father and in court I’ll get custody over you so we can see each oth- (I cut her off, right there.)
-No. I don’t WANT you to have custody over me. If you, if you walk out of this house mom, don’t come back. I will never come live with you.
~The tears started streaming down my face again. This time my mom asked Ethan to move and she hugged me, he stood over protectively watching me, making sure I was okay. She said sorry, that she loved me, and was only going to live an hour away from here. She gave me the new number she had and walked out. Again. I dropped my knees to the floor, hands over my eyes, crying. Was I not enough for my mom? Ethan came over sat next to me and moved me into his lap. Holding me close, whispering it was okay, my mom will realize what she left and feel guilty for it. After a half an hour of sitting in his lap, there was a knock on my door frame. Dad.
-Daddy, I-I’m sorry.
>Mariah, you know it’s not your fault. We don’t need her, really. We’ll be just fine.<
-Daddy, she left, forever. I can’t, I’m not. (I cried again. My dad held me, and looked at Ethan.)
>Thank you Ethan, for being here. If it weren’t for you, she would be worst off right now. <
“It’s no problem, Sir. I lover her, I always am going to be here for her.”
-Dad, do you need me here tonight?
>No, no. You can go back with Ethan if you’d like.<
-I’d like that a lot. Thanks dad. (He kissed my forehead and walked out saying I love you.)
“Come on, let’s get your stuff.”
~Once we got everything gathered up, Ethan opened my car door and let me slide in. He got in and asked if I was still wanting to go over.
-Yes, I need away from this house tonight. (We drove past his house, I had no clue where he was talking me. We drove about half an hour away when he stopped at a hotel.)
-What are we doing here?
