"Caleb, did you hear, Avalaya's getting married," Sophia said. We were eating lunch, the four of us, Caleb, Sophia, Carson and I.
"Is he a nice guy? If he's not you-" Caleb started.
“He sounds amazing,” Sophia cut him off. Caleb and I had formed a really close relationship, a father-daughter kind of relationship. “You've met him, Carson. Is that right?”
“Yeah...” Carson responded.
“He treats Avalaya right, doesn't he?”
“He does,” Carson said.
“Carson why don't you take Avalaya out to the horses? Lacy misses her.”
“Okay.” I followed Carson out to the horses and immediately walked to Lacy, petting her.
“She missed you, y'know,” Carson said. I just smiled. “We all did.”
“I miss you all as well,” I said quietly.
“Do you want to go for a ride?”
“Sure.” I got onto Lacy and Carson got onto his horse, Ashes. We rode around the farm for a good hour, either of us went near the forest. Heaps of things happened there, our first kiss, our first time making love. After we went inside, it was starting to get late and I needed to go home so I could mark some tests.
“Must you go?” Sophia asked.
“Yeah, sorry. I'll come and visit another time, make sure you're at my wedding.”
“Wouldn't miss it for the world.”
I started driving home, singing to the radio. My car stopped, I tried to start it again but it wouldn't start. I was basically in the middle of nowhere.
I called Emilee, maybe she could help. “Hey Ava.”
“Can you come and help me? Something's wrong with my car?”
“No... I'm busy though I can get somebody to come out for you, I'm really sorry. Tell me where you are.” I told her the street I was on and waited for whoever Emilee called to help.
A black car pulled up and Carson got out.

"Where'd you meet Carson?" I asked Marco when we lay together in bed.
"Oh, I met him a while ago, he knows a guy I know," he explained.
"Oh." I yawned and Marco chuckled.
"Night babe."
"Good night."
The next week went fast, I went to work, I got home and spent time with Marco. I didn't see Carson once. "Come on, Ava, we are meeting Emilee and Conner at the park." Emilee was my best friend.
I furrowed my eyes, "the park?"
"Yep, let's get going." I still spoke to Conner, we weren't close but since he was dating Emilee I had to make an effort. We were driving and out of the blue, Marco said, "How about we get married on November 4th?" he asked.
"November 4th? What's that?" I asked.
"We met on that day, silly." I stopped myself from telling him we met on October the 25th.
"Oh, right. That's 3 months away though."
"Plenty of time, the quicker we get married the quicker you'll be mine." The sentence made my heart flutter. We arrived at the park quickly and I saw my bubbly blonde best friend, Emilee.
"Ava!" she cried out, hugging me. "I missed you so much! Guess what? Conner and I are going to Fiji! How romantic? Isn't that just the cutest?"
"Awh, that's awesome, Em."
"Why don't you sound happy? What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong."
"Did you see Carson again?" she hissed.
"No,' I told her honestly. "I was just one time - I probably will never see him again."
"I wouldn't count on that," Emilee muttered.
"What do you mean? Don't tell me he's here!"
"Uh... he's not here?"
"Where is he?" I demanded.
"By the tree, he's coming to us right now." I could hear him start talking to Carson and Marco.
"Avalaya, Emilee, hey," Carson said to us.
"Hi," we both replied together.
Suddenly a little boy started running towards Carson screaming, "Daddy!"

The fairly odd parents is about a kid playing pretend with his fish. His godparents died in a car crash when he was younger, & since they were the only adults who understood him he took comfort in imagining that they are there watching over him since his parents obviously don't care.
