I hate the term "nerd"
It is probably the most offensive thing I've ever been called. I've been called a multitude of things, but "nerd" always hurts the most. I know, I know; it means I'm smart and I should be proud of myself! But let me tell you the actual definition. Nerd means a foolish or contempitible (despicable) person who lacks social skills or is boringly studious. Does that sound like a compliment? No, and that's because it's not. You're not telling them, "You're smart and very successful!" You're telling them, "You're boring and you have no friends." Just because I want to succeed and I try hard does NOT mean I am a nerd.
