Poem.
I am considered a polyglot.
It’s a word that means you,
speak 4 or more languages
in an advanced level
For me, it goes from English to French,
then Vietnamese and Swedish.
Sometimes, it works because,
I can tell you words I want to say.
But it can never escape my lips,
when it comes to the language
we share together..Like English.
I can tell you, ‘t’es beau à moi.’
Brush it off, as if I meant, your
shoelaces are untied and I’ll always
be there for you, even if you
might never share the words I
will someday, when I confess
those three words: ‘Jag älskar dig’
You might be smiling or frowning,
confused at these words. I’ll
always yell, ‘tu est bête!’ To the
next person who hurts you. I’ll
always make sure, you’ll know
in English, that I love you,
and the words of xin chào will
greet your heart, when my heart
meet yours. I’ll try to remember,
to tell you what all those words really meant.

953.7 million people
And in the United States of America,
I have freedom of speak.
I'm sure that includes other languages,
Like something simple as Spanish.
406 million people do, you can, too.
I'll stop speaking other languages when I don't give a single mierda about culture, heritage, and background.

Words that don't exist in English but definitely should:
(which all happen to have to do with food)
Kummerspeck (German) When you eat because you're stressed (stressed is dessert spelled backwards). This word means the weight you gain from emotional eating.
Shemomedjamo (Georgian) Legit means "I accidentally ate the whole thing." AKA story of my life. Georgians feel my pain.
Pelinti (Buli, Ghana) Do you ever take a bite of something then soon realize it's wayy to hot? This word describes the "Argghhh" noise you make as you try to move the food around your mouth. It translates to "To move hot food around in your mouth."
Palegg (Norwegian) The Norwegians have created a word to describe anything you can put on a sandwich. Yup - Pb n J, Turkey, Nutella, you name it. (I'm not sure exactly how badly we need this word, but you never know).
Lagom (Swedish) The word that means 'not tooo much, but not tooo little'. I'll use this next time I need lagom toppings, dressings, you name it, on food!
