The moment you finish a good book it is like the whole world is ending. Suddenly the pages are no longer there to flip and you can't enter back into that world no matter how much you really want to. All you can do is play back the memories that had been engrained in your mind while in this new world and take a tight grasp of the lessons the world had taught you.
And I suppose it is the same thing with life. Each day might as well be its own new world; its own place to learn countless lessons and create beautiful memories. There are days we want to stay in forever but no matter how slowly we try to make them move or how hard we try to get back, we can't and never will. All we will ever have are the memories and there is something so beautiful and so tragic about it. It all depends on if you take the lessons with you.

are a lot like a roller coaster. You start on the ride, and you're scared. Your nerves kick in, you're not sure what's coming or what it will be like. You're afraid. And then the ride starts going. It's slow, takes seemingly forever to get out of the dark tunnel where you start to that hill. That first hill. It's terrifying, to watch as you go up, completely out of control. All you can do is hold on tight and pray that it's all going to be okay. Then, you feel the drop. The first drop. And it's horrifying. You've never felt anything to scary in all of your life. And they keep coming. Sometimes a hill, sometimes a drop, sometimes your very world is turned upside down. But then, slowly, the ride reaches the last hill. It felt like you'd been on it forever, but you finally get to the top, and you can see the tunnel ahead, you can practically feel your feet back on your ground, and you know, you finally truly know that you're finally going to be okay again.

my ego is a balloon
it's super huge and inflated most of the time, but when a single insult flies my way, it pops. i obsess over the insult, think it's true, and have a panic attack. am i really mean? am i really ugly? i go and search for someone to blow my ego back up again, and reassure me that i'm not ugly, i'm not mean. but i fear that someday, everyone will grow tired of blowing my ego back up, and leave me. it's this fear that conquers over everything else.
