Story time. Tonight, I went to see
The Desolation of Smaug with my family and close friends of ours.
The movie was amazing. The end made me want to bang my head against
a wall repeatedly, but that’s beside the point. After the
movie, we went to dinner at this Italian restaurant. Immediately,
my brothers started arguing, my parents started getting out of
control, and it just triggered something in me. I felt nauseous and
extremely embarrassed because they hardly ever behave like that in
public. Then on the way home, we stopped for milkshakes at a
drive-thru near us as a special New Year’s treat. I was still
feeling awful and was on the brink of tears, only holding them back
for the sake of my family. We were surprised when we pulled up to
the window and the lady said with a smile, “Your
milkshakes have already been paid for.” Though I was
having a bad night, I immediately smiled. So the moral of this
story is…be nice because you never know when you can make
someone’s night. There are still good people out there, I
promise. Happy New Year you guys, and pay it
forward.
