Chapter Six

NIALL'S POV

“Niall!” someone called as I stood and waited.
“Please don’t pour anything on me,” I begged, turning around to find Chloe behind me.
“Why would I pour something on you?” she asked.
“Lunch, milk, long story,” I said and she frowned.
“It was Harry, wasn’t it?” she asked and I nodded.
“I hate that kid,” she responded. “Don’t know why I dated him, really. I think I just thought he was cool. I like nicer guys now though,” she chuckled. “Shy, sweet, but can have a little fun at the same time.”
I smiled and she let loose a bit, rocking back and forth in place.
“What kinda girls do you like?” she asked carelessly.
“I dunno,” I chuckled. “A tad dorky, maybe. Someone cute with a good personality, and she’s gotta eat as much as I do.’
Chloe laughed and I smiled. She looked around and her eyes widened a bit.
“Found my bus,” she said, grabbing my arm and skipping to it.
“What are you doing?” I laughed, catching up to her so she wasn’t pulling on me anymore.
“I dunno,” she laughed. “I got a sudden burst of energy. Keep up or go take a nap.”
I laughed and we both got onto her bus. Of course, it just happened to be Harry and Zayn’s bus too.
“Horan?” Harry laughed. “What are you doing here?”
“He’s with me,” Chloe said. “Now bug off, Styles.”
She sat down in the first seat and looked at me.
“You gonna sit?” she asked and I sat in the seat across from her, not wanting to sit next to her and have it be awkward.
We rode in silence, and then the bus stopped and she stood up.
“This is my stop,” she said. “You coming?”
I nodded and got off the bus behind her. Of course, Harry and Zayn got off too.
“Does Miss Independent need someone to fool around with?” he laughed at Chloe. “Are you really that desperate, Chlo?”
“Bug off, Harry,” she said, stopping to look at him. “He’s helping me with a project.”
“Sure he is,” Styles said sarcastically.
He grabbed Chloe by the waist and pulled her close to him, so their bodies were touching.
“Don’t you miss me?” he asked, smirking.
“I miss nothing about you,” she said, trying to get away from him.
“I think you do,” he said, crashing his lips onto hers and kissing her.
She tried to fight back, but Harry but his hand on the back of her head tightly so she couldn’t move. He got rough with her, and she started to get scared. He touched her as she squirmed. She tried to move away but he grabbed her, fiddling with her bra.
“That’s enough man,” I heard Zayn say quietly as Chloe cried.
“No, I don’t think it is,” Harry said, succeeding and kissing her again.
“Quit it, Styles,” I said sharply and, of course, my voice is the one he responded to.
He held Chloe by the collar of her shirt and looked at me.
“What are you gonna do about it?” he asked me.
“Just let her go,” I said, getting a bit brave.
“No,” he responded. “You want her you gotta earn her.”
I rolled my eyes and walked over to the curly haired jerk. He tried to fight me with one hand but failed, and I got him in a head lock. He let go of Chloe to defend himself, put I punched him in the gut before he could do anything. Then the situation turned a bit, I wasn’t paying much attention and get punched in the face. My nose started to bleed and I threw a bunch back. I hit Harry in the mouth so he kicked me in the stomach. I fell down in pain as Harry laughed and walked away, followed by Zayn. I stood up and walked over to Chloe.
“Are you okay?” I asked and she nodded, still crying a bit
She was very shaken, and I felt bad. I held out my hand to comfort her but instead she hugged me. Shocked, I hesitated to hug her back, but I did. I wrapped my arms around her little body and let her put her head on my shoulder.
“Thank you,” she said quietly.
“You don’t have to thank me,” I responded, rubbing her back to calm her down
She let go of me and looked at my nose.
“Come on,” she said, taking a deep breath and calming down. “We have a song to write and a nose to clean.”
I smiled and followed her up the street to her house.
