You know i am veryyy deeply upset about this boston bombing because my best friend's brother was hurt in it and i know everybody is freaking out because i see them since i do live in the U.S. i feel bad that this is all happening and its getting pretty scary but, i wish we can offer the same sympathy to all the kids dying in africa and afghanistan and palestine you know? But my prayers do go out to all those affected in boston i wish them the best <3

Well, I don't think that you should think that way because yes some things do go unnoticed, but you probably don't even do anything about it except complain. People are grieving for a tragedy, is that wrong or something?

No, there is absolutely nothing wrong with grieving over someone's death, and you obviously didn't get the point of the quote. I'm saying there's a larger scale of people dying elsewhere in the world and you don't see other countries trying to help stop it or even acknowledging it for that matter. And you said, "you probably don't even do anything except complain." Excuse me? What would you know? You've only seen this one quote and you're already judging.

THANK YOU. I completely agree with you, since many problems and deaths occur there every day, yet no one even gives them a glance.

America is selfish.
We care about ourselves, no other country, unless there's something in it for US as a country. Money, power, whatever.
But just about every other country is the same way.

As a Legalist philosopher believed, all humans are born inherently evil and selfish. Humanity proves that to be true... most of us, at least.
It is a disgrace.

I completely agree with you. I think there is a difference between not knowing and not caring. America doesn't seem to pay attention to any world news unless it's huge, though we should. If more people were informed about the number of deaths that actually occurred everyday, then events like this wouldn't seem as huge. Every innocent life lost is tragic, and no one should be forgotten. <3

Agreed! And it's not just about car bombings, soldiers go overseas all the time and their loves are lost because of bombings or shot and die everyday, but no one ever cares about that. It's so sad that all those other people who die everyday go unnoticed.

THANK YOU FOR ACTUALLY SAYING THAT.
Those were my thoughts whenever I read a quote about bombings or shootings in America

Oh I hope they are okay. ❤ And I'm glad you liked the quote, I'm just sick of people not realising what's going on around the world and only caring about what goes on in their 'bubble'.

Thanks and yeah. The USA seems to focus on their minor problems and get into the other countries' problems without the people knowing why. Fortunately my dad gets the paper from about 3 or 4 different parts of the world through the Internet so I know what's going on.... So yeah.... No bubble here :/

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm repulsed by the fact that no one gives a rats a.ss if you don't live in America! I don't mean to offend because its not everyone but I really think that people need to think about others as well.

I know, it's actually pretty sad that this still goes on. It's as if they aren't as important as Americans. A life lost is a life lost, people need to realise that there are bigger problems than those they see on the news.

It's really sad this happens. I can remember here in Australia a few years ago we had this massive bushfire (Black Saturday) and I think it might have been on their news like once but then it wasn't even a big deal, because we aren't America. And you are completely correct. There is other issues aside from those.

Yeah, and like every year around Queensland there's floods and you don't here Americans or other parts of the world grieving for lives lost. If you ask me some nations don't care about anyone but themselves.

Exactly. Some places need some compassion and to think about others more than themselves
