On Sunday December 17, 2012, 2 days after the Connecticut shooting,
a man went into a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his ex-girlfriend. After he shot her, most people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followed them and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shooting and people in the theater started running and screaming. It's like the Aurora, Colorado theater story plus a restaurant.
Now aren't you wondering why this isn't a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting?
There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. She pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone.
So, since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened.
Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week.
Just thought you'd like to know.

I think security/police should be all around with guns. They should NOT be outlawed because then the good people couldn't have them. What needs to be outlawed are those freaking machine guns, unless you're in the military- my opinion. i do agree with your point, but if there were two security guards up against a psycho with a machine gun, the psycho would win

It's propaganda, also, because they only show stories that go with the message they're trying to get across. It's horrible that they don't talk about a hero just because she used a gun to save so many people.

I wonder if the shooting would've happened if guns were banned and taken from normal civilians.

That goes against our amendments, so they would never take them away. However, if they did, people would still be able to get their hands on them. A lot of people who own guns do not own them legally/have them registered

It's easy for them to get guns, right? What would happen if the goverment made it less easier, slowly by slowly building up to take those guns away, as much as possible? Yeah, people could still be able to get their hands on them, like people are able to get their hands on drugs, and alcohol and knives and scissors and ductape. But you'll never be able to make a difference in a country that's been making the same mistakes over and over again, if you don't take things from a different approach. See how it's going to work out then. Nobody made a difference by doing nothing and upholding the same old path.

That'd help, but people would still get them illegally and not register them (it happens a lot, mostly at gun shows). But, there definitely needs to be a different approach. We are the only industrialized country that has multiple ,mass shootings frequently. We're killing our people.

I understand why it's a big deal, it was terrible what happened. But, what the media does concerning shootings and which shootings they choose to cover is propaganda
